It is always refreshing to see the creative freedom and room for individual space. Less serious and with far less scrutiny than large fashion houses, there is room for more risks and often a better understanding- That is what we have with the Stockholm based company The Local Firm.
The label is full ranged for both men and women but their specialty is jeans. The Local Firm’s clothing concept, created by Richard Hutchinson and Axel Nyhage is inspired by art, architecture and design from the former European East Block (without the communism). The design concept “a contrast of status” combines garments and materials that distinguish themselves by contrasting one another. Designing, they pay attention to the little details which includes jeans composed of special textures and different colorways paired together mostly with color blocks of black, gray and a bit of brown.
TLF denim pieces are some of the best, like simple unadulterated acid wash jeans—a ’90s throwback you might find in thrift store, only a thousand times more tailored. Think streetwear with great fashion sense!
