Get your Bauhaus blaring, or perhaps, a softer melancholy Schubert’s Trio Opus 100, to get you in character for a new label from down under. Gripp’s A/W 2009 collection is inspired by the cult movie “The Hunger” (a must see starring David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon), David Bowie’s Berlin Period and the synthesized sounds of Depeche Mode.
Australian label, Gripp Jeans, designed by Dianne Grgat began as a jeans only collection. With the revival of the 80′s goth chic for this fall, thanks to the likes of designers Gareth Pugh, Riccardo Tisci and Stefano Pilati, to name a few, Gripp is right on target with their expanded collection of sexy fitted dresses, come hither corsets, biker leather jackets and, of course, their edgy denim.
Some of my favorite pieces are: the Valentina leather corset, Love Lace skirt, Dallas Knot Skirt, and 50′s vintage blouse. All bold, sexy, take no prisoners, let me make you scream pieces that you’ll want to get your claws on.
Get a Gripp…Gripp Jeans.
