If you’ve seen some of the Spring/Summer runway shows, then you know that beige, gray, tan, taupe and all those softer, neutral colors are grabbing the attention of style editors who are always out to find something a bit more unpredictable this summer. Besides metallic accessories and white-washed ensembles that usually surface in the summer, what couldn’t be more refreshing?
With economic recovery hopefully on its way, beige, tan or even natural hues — textiles that haven’t been chemically treated — offer a classic, economical and even eco-friendly solution to freshening up our wardrobes. These neutral colors are pretty adaptable for most skin tones, and easily coordinates with all shades of denim, which is great for mixing and matching. With summer brights and neon trends making waves in apparel, the muted and calmer tones provide an exciting contrast and balance to an otherwise ordinary ensemble.
