Thread Lounge opens in Chicago.
San Franciscans have experienced the special fashion deals offered by Thread Lounge, and now, Chicagoans can, too. Thread Lounge Chicago’s Grand Opening party took place last Saturday (and I so wanted to be there), kicking off a midwestern expansion of this quietly growing discount fashion source. Founded by Colleen Schmidt (founder of PJs 2 Go), Thread Lounge started as a travelling sample sale of coveted high-end fashion labels “at a quarter of the retail price.” With pop-up stores scattered across the country and its roots firmly planted in its first permanent location in San Francisco — and now its second permanent location in Chicago — we can only hope they will continue to thrive and set up shop in more fashionista-populated cities.
What labels can you expect to find? Speaking of labels that produce denim, you can expect to find Colcci, James Jeans, Joe’s Jeans, and over 300 others. Other featured designers all under one roof are Alice & Olivia, C&C, Casch Copenhagen, Dolce & Gabanna Men, Milly, Oliver People’s Sunglasses, Stewart+Brown and Vivienne Westwood. It’s a one-stop fashion upgrade haven.
I could only wish to visit San Francisco or Chicago soon just to check out Thread Lounge. Hear that people? I’m jealous there isn’t a permanent Thread Lounge in L.A.!
