Anlo founders, husband-and-wife team Jenna Andreola Lonstein and David Lonstein, will launch OTR, which stands for Off the Record, this fall. The lower priced line with prices ranging from $95 – $136 will be available at Revolve Clothing, an upscale store in West Hollywood, Calif., and a handful of boutiques throughout the U.S.
The difficult economy has also played to their advantage when it comes to raw materials and production. David said he??™s been able to buy premium fabric at a significant discount, a trend he chalks up to larger brands overbuying in tough times and being forced to unload the excess. That, in turn, allows them to continue producing domestically while keeping the price of the line low.
David said he views the growing number of brands entering the $90 to $150 price zone as a positive. (WWD)
With the growing amount of premium denim labels jumping on the alternative lower priced bandwagon, it sparks the question, are denim jeans really worth the $200 plus price tag anyway? Or do you think they have gone through the same real estate bubble that over inflated their value? A good topic to talk about in my next post!
