If you’re wondering how to wear denim during the summer months, take a cue from Alexander Wang. Denim isn’t usually integrated into resort collections, but leave it up to fashion’s wonderboy to find a way make multiple denim pieces that are light, breezy, and perfect for a hot day.
As always, creativity abounded. The designer used denim in a variety of ways from cute denim shorts paired with khaki trenches, to jeans worn with incredibly summery white knit tops. Wang also featured denim blouses and vests. Probably, most astonishing were a pair of overalls worn over a white tee-shirt which came off as amazingly chic.
Unlike other seasons, Wang veered away from the usual saturation of fun party looks that he is most known for. The designer did produce a few, obligatory cocktail dresses, but don’t expect a big f??te in this collection. Instead, the aesthetic was solidly All-American, with a dose of edginess. No doubt Wang drew inspiration from his recent collaboration with The Gap which hit stores last month.
