ACNE’s Latest Collaboration Takes Aim At Transgender Consumers


ACNE Transgender Shirt Collection

You read that right.  Swedish clothing brand Acne has launched a collection of shirts, aimed at transgender consumers.  It’s not that much of a shock, when you think of it.  Another Swedish brand, Nudie Jeans, has a collection of unisex jeans (E.g. the “Slim Kim”), and they are not the only denim brand that provides jeans that are wearable for both genders.  This collection makes a point that the shirts are specifically designed with the transgender customer in mind, rather than saying the clothes happen to fit any gender, as the term “unisex” implies.

Fashion isn’t just for men and women anymore.

The Swedish clothing brand ACNE is launching a new collection aimed at transgender consumers, reports Vogue UK.

ACNE designed the line of Italian denim and silk crepe shirts shirts along with Luis Venegas, the editor of transgender and cross-dressing fashion magazine Candy.

“Luis energy really reminds of the energy we had when we started ACNE,” the brand’s creative director Jonny Johansson told Vogue UK…”
