Recently, we heard about this website called zipfit.me that claims to have a “unique algorithm that matches you to the right pair of mens jeans based upon a pair you already love or based upon your body type and fit preferences.” It seemed legit, so I gave it a try. I liked was that I could try both methods without having to set up an account or enter any payment information.
First, I tried the more custom technique by entering my measurements and fit preferences. I knew I wanted a pair of white jeans, so I just searched through the dozen-or-so matches for a pair that came in white and voila- we have a deal! I also tried the process where you select a pair you already have from a list and it came up with mostly the same dozen-or-so pairs, so clearly I have a type.
I experimented with both methods, several times, and I can safely say the process is very easy – so easy, a male model could handle it. Payment was a breeze and my Paige denim Normandie egg shell jeans were on their way. They must have had them in stock, because I got my jeans in about a week.
I was pretty excited about my white jeans, because I’ve never had a pair of white jeans and, you know, YOLO- or whatever. I tried them on and immediately realized my blue boxers weren’t going to work with these pants. After a quick trip to the store for some tighty whities, I was ready for the joys these pants would unlock. For some reason, I was imagining them to be like gritty, Andrew WK style white jeans- but once I got them, I realized I had selected more yacht-rock, Hall and Oates style slack-y jeans, but that’s cool. I’ll rock that 80’s look, no problem.
I’m looking forward to launching these white light denim jeans into my summer rotation. Zipfit.me delivers the goods, as promised, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

The thing we love most about trade shows like PROJECT are how up-close we can get to the denim. We can inspect the fabric hand, design details, and special components that set brands apart from one another. Besides their adorable mini-jeans, 3×1 was equipped with the particulars to keep us around their booth for a while, from their top notch Japan-sourced denim to their made-in-the-USA finishes.

Kate Hudson was seen out and about in Siwy Hannah Jeans in Love Spell—the white skinny jeans are a great reminder that you can rock any color you want in the winter. We personally think this pair makes her look like a snow angel. And that may (or may not) be because we’re obsessed with her. Love this look? Grab some white skinny jeans and rock them with your favorite sweater-cardigan. Temperature be damned!

We’ve seen flowers, we’ve seen paisley…heck, we’ve even seen skeletons prancing on printed jeans! So it’s super refreshing when a brand comes out with a unique take on a done-to-death trend (not that we’re tired of it). Big Star USA released a pair of very charming jeans for spring that feature a smattering of colorful birds on white denim. Understated in a cartoon-y way, they’d be a flawless match for a white silk button-down top or a tailored navy blazer.

This style will hit stores in May, so stay tuned.

A brand well known for being ultra-classic and artisan-inspired, Raleigh Denim is branching out into trendier waters for spring 2013. Fear not, they won’t be pushing any pop-art inspired prints or novelty cuts. Instead, they’re introducing a variety of colored denim for women in rich hues like cranberry, pale-lilac, and grape. Yes, we want them all.

We love the “less is more” design philosophy, especially when it comes to jeans. It’s always refreshing to find a pair of jeans free of bells-and-whistles, that emphasize beautiful fit, carefully selected fabrics, and artisanal washes. Eugene Is My Middle Name is one of those brands, and their fall/winter 2012 lookbook features some gorgeous brights for the cold weather season. If you’ve been hesitant to wear light wash denim, white jeans, or metallics in the past, these styles should help you tip the scales in the other direction.
See four of our favorite looks below, including a pair of hand-sanded Italian denim ombre skinnies, bleached-out light wash, gold metallic hand-gilded and Japanese cotton jeans.

Shay Mitchell, the star of “Pretty Little Liars,” recently stepped out wearing a pair of the new Paige Denim Catalina shorts in Optic White, complemented by her Rebecca Minkoff Becky blazer and Yves Saint Laurent heels. These mid-rise denim shorts with a slight frayed hem will be available for Spring 2013. Shay took advantage of the extended Los Angeles summer to spiff up in head-to-toe white to shoot photos for her new blog at ShayMitchblog.tumblr.com. What do you think? Does this get you excited for the return of spring?
