Victoria’s Secret model Doutzen Kroes plays a castaway in a editorial spread for the January 2013 issue of Vogue UK. Set against whitewashed adobe walls and colorful folk blankets, Turkish brand Mavi’s collection for spring still retains the Mediterranean feel the line is known for, while also incorporating Western-style influences. If there’s one lesson that we can learn from their latest range of colored jeans, indigo washes, and denim shirts, it’s that denim goes excellent with–you guessed it!–even more denim. The key is picking washes that are either radically different, like pairing stark white denim shirts with mustard yellow jeans, or garments that perfectly meld together wash-wise for a monochromatic look (with different proportions, of course).
