We’re loving this look on ballroom dancer/vocalist Julianne Hough: a perfect no-fuss spring denim dress that’s both casual and feminine. We were thrilled to find out that this perfect one piece is by Topshop and accessible to all price points. We’d recommend throwing this on with some earth tone wedges or just as Julianne did with black ankle boots. You’d have to ditch those by June, obviously.

If you’re into boyfriend/drop-crotch jeans but don’t want to go outside looking like a Gwen Stefani fan from the early ’90s, there’s a way to pull off the look in a sophisticated fashion.

Last time we linked up with Kuro, they showed us a gradient of denim washed, aged, and treated for different lengths of time, and told us the best way to wear distressed vintage jeans was with a tailored blazer and a crisp, clean button-down. Sound advice that doesn’t expire, it turns out, since we ran into them this week and they were keeping with their vintage meets tailored aesthetic. “Denim for the Yohji fan,” they explained, showing us a dapper mannequin outfitted in the customer image. Selvedge trimmed back pockets, top-stitching, and other details characterize this impressive Japanese brand. Check them out online for more on their philosophy and products.

No time to fuss over what you’re going to wear today? Try this super easy (and very chic) combination that’s perfect for fall. It’s the fail-proof denim x knit top x jacket equation, and it always = awesome.
Start with your favorite pair of jeans (we love a relaxed fit, perhaps with a bit of distressing, but skinny works too). For fall, we’ll start out with dark wash jeans. Add a scoop neck knit top, tucked in either fully with a belt or just half-tucked in the front. Over this, throw a soft tailored blazer and cuff the sleeves. Add some chic flats, and you’re out the door!
