Lewis Grant for Takeshy Kurosawa Spring 2012 in ‘White Trash & Used Denim’

Tatted up model Lewis Grant adds a new dimension to the urban cowboy in Takeshy Kurosawa‘s Spring-Summer 2012 campaign entitled, “White Trash & Used Denim.”  This playful campaign puts a fun spin on Kurosawa’s Western style shirts, distressed jeans and other vintage washed denim offerings.  The entire collection seems to be a bit of a throwback, from tapered jeans-like silhouettes to cuffed denim bermuda shorts.

Black Orchid Denim Mixes It Up For Spring 2012

With just one look at the covetable bright blue reptile print jeans, we had to see what was up with Black Orchid Denim.  As you may recall from their sultry Fall/Winter 2011 campaign, Black Orchid has a knack for raising the bar on sexy jeans.  For Spring-Summer 2012, we notice a bit more of an eclectic mix of vintage wash looks and colorful prints (a girl likes to have options!), inspiring Boho style, Western, glam, rocker and some ethnic-tribal patterns.

Spring-Summer 2012: Black Orchid Denim releases a mix of graphic printed jeans, including snakeskin and ethnic patterns.

Denim On Denim Reigns Supreme In Mavi’s S/S 2012 Lookbook

Set against whitewashed adobe walls and colorful folk blankets, Turkish brand Mavi’s collection for spring still retains the Mediterranean feel the line is known for, while also incorporating Western-style influences. If there’s one lesson that we can learn from their latest range of colored jeans, indigo washes, and denim shirts, it’s that denim goes excellent with–you guessed it!–even more denim. The key is picking washes that are either radically different, like pairing stark white denim shirts with mustard yellow jeans, or garments that perfectly meld together wash-wise for a monochromatic look (with different proportions, of course).

One of the hottest and most wearable trend of the season is definitely the western-meets-bohemian look. True Religion Does Western Americana For It’s Fall 2011 Campaign

This fall True Religion ditches its usual bohemian hippie vibe  and highlights its western side in a classic Americana mix of leather, vintage plaids, ditsy florals, and denim essentials. Shot by Nino Mu?oz and modeled by Anne Vyalitsyna, head-to-toe denim looks accented with Navajo printed belts and turquoise jewelry definitely give the double denim look a killer (though not-so-groundbreaking) revamp.  A suede chunky platform in a saturated camel hue instead of a cowboy boot could definitely take this from ultra-conceptual to totally wearable. We dig! The west is officially back ya’ll!

Summer Denim Done With A New Western Twist

Fashion Gone Rogue takes us on a lazy summer vacation decked in neo-western looks perfect for the seasons hot hot heat in this exclusive editorial titled Heartbeats shot by Harper Smith. High waisted denim short shorts are paired with a barely there nude crochet swimsuit and vintage-inspired necklace with a hint a turquoise. And of course a new take on the majestic west would be nothing without a dose of fringe made of-the-moment in the form of an acid wash denim jacket over a vintage graphic tee and leopard hot pants. A leather buckaroo style hat and suede fringed ankle boots finish off the look (spurs totally optional).

Ana de Rijk Punks Things Up In Denim For Harper’s Bazaar Spain

June’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain features Dutch beauty Anna de Rejk looking anything but sweet in this killer punk-western inspired editorial. From studs and safety pins on ultra bleached out denim to worn in western leather, the best of both worlds come together for a what Harper’s  calls a new take of London punk  style. All we have to say is that if Anna can rock a cropped denim jacket with fringe (which we’re totally into, by the way) over a pair of leather pants with lace-up details and manage to give it a punk edge, then it’s a definite ace look in our book!
