Finding jeans that fit feels like a never-ending struggle. There are more style blog and magazine write-ups on this topic than any other when it comes to denim, and it’s no mystery: there’s a huge variation in sizing between brands, and no one standard is upheld. Vanity sizing adds another element of confusion to the mix, and recently a clothing chart was released to elaborate on just how different sizes are gradually being represented. Check it out here.

We all feel a bit defeated when we have to buy a size up, but if you want a pair of jeans to have the perfect fit, don’t stick to a number just because that’s the size you think you should be. Buy up or down as needed. Every line and style is cut differently, and no matter what “size” you end up buying, you will still look good, because it’s how the jeans fit that shows. Remember that no one sees the little size tab on the inside of the jeans except for you!
