It’s easy to mistake your feelings of bold and confident and translate it into a fashion faux-paus. Two talented ladies that we caught committing fashion suicide were Vanessa Hudgens and Lana Del Ray rocking the crop top sans high-waisted jeans look. There is no reason to deem crop tops a style of the past as long as your remember to pair your favorite flirty top with high-waisted denim. Hudgens was wearing J Brand “1046″ cut off shorts in Blue Bonnet and Del Ray took a stab at styling some Wrangler Jess Jeans. Fashionistas beware, don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Yeah we’re on a neon kick today. We have to admit, we have a soft spot for teen starlets in colored denim. Something about the photos of Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez below, decked out in neon separates and yellow cut-off shorts, is just cosmically right. They were photographed on-set filming Spring Breakers with Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine. You’ve gotta grab a pair of neon yellow shorts for the warmer months! Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens happen to be best friends, and as BFF’s often do, they sometimes shop together and inevitably end up fawning over some of the same brands. They do wear their denim differently though! They were both seen in amazing pairs of destroyed Mink Pink Slasher Flick Shorts in Denim whilst doing their mundane activities (dog walking and pumping gas—they’re real people too, yanno). Vanessa Hudgens is one of those people that has figured out how to look effortlessly cool all the time (and we doubt it’s effortless). She was recently snapped in a black & white ensemble (her hair really makes this look pop!) wearing Current/Elliott Side Zip Shorts. These super cute frayed edge cut-offs look a tad too small on the starlet (when the hem rolls up and fights against you, that’s one way to tell you need to go up a size) but she still looks stellar. Her BCBGeneration striped t-shirt is a high-contrast bold choice for a top, and while we’re not a fan of tiny bags, the small Cole Haan leather purse doesn’t overwhelm the rest of her outfit.

Vanessa Hudgens hides her new chopped locks underneath a beanie (with some light exposure) as she heads to a barbecue but she had no problem showing of her legs in distressed One Teaspoon Hawk High Waist Denim Shorts!
