Omar Kashoura Channels Beat Generation Cool For F/W 2012

It may be hard to believe that we’re even thinking about fashion for fall/winter 2012–especially when spring is just around the corner–but we’re still pretty excited about Omar Kashoura’s menswear collection. Inspired by the Beat Generation, Kashoura aimed for a so-called “downtrodden natural worn look,” kept fresh with graphic patterns and golden accents. So if Allen Ginsburg is your literary crush, keep this in mind for fall: relaxed trousers, structured coats, turtlenecks, and blazers galore. You’ll be ready to go ‘on the road’ in no time.

Raven Denim Spring 2012 Press Preview

Walking into the Raven Denim press preview was like walking into the perfect, cozy, weather-transitioning wardrobe. Refreshing paprikas, peaches, and nutmegs abounded in comfortable workwear trousers and high (but not too-high)-waisted skinnies. The cords, in perfect earth tones, had a beautiful sheen to them while the denim was studded with trouser-inspired details, like welt pockets and horn buttons. Coming from the label behind the coveted Mackenzie trouser, we weren’t surprised by all of the menswear details and attention to fit.

Creative director Ya-el Torbati (pictured below), who looked fab in her RD black skinny jeans and a cream colored printed blouse, chatted with us about what makes pants great (the flattering fit, of course) and how into wearing colors as neutrals she is right now (a girl after our own little Denim Therapy hearts). After seeing those peach colored chinos, we think we’re suddenly over black and blue.

J Brand Gets Equestrian With Jodhpurs For Their Fall 2011 Collection

J Brand‘s latest release has the equestrian style-loving crowd cheering for joy—a sophisticated, fashion-forward take on jodhpurs with inner-knee patches and ankle zippers. Made with a fine luxe twill, this style is coming out with their Fall 2011 release, and they combine a playful sporty prep aesthetic with something that feels sexy (and expensive). Will they catch on? Celebs will probably love them, and they’ll make waves before long—but one thing’s for sure. These will look killer with a pair of heeled boots and a suit jacket for fall.
