How To Wear Bright Red Jeans

According to the Tory Burch blog, wearing red jeans is as easy as pie!

“Style Tip: Denim is the perfect canvas for a bright splash of color. We like to roll the hem for a cropped look and pair them with a neutral bag, classic penny loafers and a striped sweater.”

Posted Sep 23 2011 in Denim Therapy » Denim Tips The New Online Shopping Experience

“ is a personalized shopping experience, brought to you by Google, that lets you find and discover fashion goods through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers — celebrities, stylists, designers, and fashion bloggers. Boutiques uses visual technology to help fashionistas discover and shop their look and creates the opportunity for designers to showcase their collections and latest inspirations online”.

If you’re looking for your very own perfect denim style what better place to search and succeed than Googles very own Boutiques.Com . To me, it’s a place where you can mash up your current wardrobe with a wishlist of ideal pieces & things you’re likely to buy in the future from an array of designers such as Alice and Olivia, Catherine Malandrino, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rag and Bone, Tory Burch, and William Rast. It’s nothing like Google has done before- there is no advertising and the imagery is big and beautiful. Basically a 24/7 shopping experience (we never have had a problem with that).

How does it work? When you sign up for an account, you’re presented with an array of questions — almost like a style survey. Do you boot leg or skinny jeans? Would you prefer to wear ripped and shredded denim or clean cut? Which color washes do you prefer & do you like patterns?  You’re shown a gallery of snapshots, ranging from celebrity style to street fashion, & asked what is most inspiring. It then runs through your likes and dislikes to pinpoint your actual style. A boutique is then created with a username, examples of clothing, and suggested boutiques you can follow- any boutique can be followed by any user and the more followers equals greater exposure and “ranking” (go stylistas and all of your friends and friends of friends).

There are also a number of celebrity boutiques you can follow- Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Carey Mulligan, Sarah Michelle Gellar… Just to name a few. That’s six degrees of separation for you!

Tory Burch Expanding Her Denim Line

Tory Burch, the socialite turned very successful fashion designer with the fabulous ‘T’ logo, is expanding her denim category for the fall. Styles offered in her collections are slim-cut, skinny, boot-cut, boy-friend, denim leggings, stretch corduroy and capris. Added to the mix are a sailor-cut style, printed denim, bottoms that have been hand-painted in silver and a jacket and a bottom that feature a washable leather.

“We want to prove ourselves in the denim world and we want to do it in the right way and at the right pace,” she said. “For us, it’s a learning process. I feel that we are at a good place right now. I’m really happy with the direction of our collection and it’s something that we’re going to continue to work on and expand. I think there’s always room for denim in the market if it’s great.”  (WWD)

About 50% of the fabric will come from Japanese denim mills and the majority of production is in Asia. Retail prices for the jeans will range from $165 to $250, and tops ranging from $295 to $425. The denim line will be available in all the Tory Burch stores in the U.S. and on its Web site.  In addition, many of the brand’s wholesale customers have picked up the line, as well as 100 department and specialty stores in Europe and Asia.

Tory Burch Pre-Spring 40% off + Resort 60% off Sale!

When Tory Burch first came out with her bohemian-preppy chic line, I loved it from the get go.  Her logo is simply fab.  The patterns that she uses takes you back to the 60’s Palm Springs era, which I adore, and I was hooked, line and sinker on her Reva ballet flats (named after her mother, Reva) . Her name and logo quickly spread like wild fire and before you knew it, every other woman from their 20’s to 60’s+, socialite, soccer mom, and hipster were sporting her line.

I have to admit, when it started getting more mainstream I didn’t want to wear what every other woman was wearing in town, but the truth of the matter is that she continues to come out with great wearable clothing with vibrant colors, mesmerizing patterns and her shoes just keep on getting better.  So, hats off to you Tory!  I remain a loving fan!

Check out her sale and of course her denim line!
