Denim trends cycle in and out fast (although they always seem to repeat themselves). But it seems that jean jackets are the one form that never fades away. A jean jacket is the most dependable denim staple that is almost always fashionable even when they are out of fashion. Kim Kardashian is certainly no stranger to the look. She is seen wearing a Bebe Open Knit Maxi, Fendi Peekaboo Leather Tote, Dita Condor Sunglasses, Sam Edelman Gigi Sandal, and TEXTILE Elizabeth and James Sid Denim Jacket. We love the jean jacket over a dress style for every summer day outing; Black tie affairs included.

The Olsen Twins are determined to make their denim-centric TEXTILE Elizabeth & James line a thriving, distinguishable brand, rather than a capsule spin-off from the more established Elizabeth & James brand. Do not mistake TEXTILE as a diffusion line; the price points are pretty similar. For the Fall 2011 lookbook, artfully patched jeans in colorful blocks of overlapping fabric is the stand-out feature. The rest of the collection is a slubby, laid-back California vibe (note the poncho, layering tees and longjohns). There is some hint of the ’70s trend via the flared jeans (if the model’s blond, tousled hair is no indicator), but fall looks to be less ’70s than the current Spring-Summer 2011 collection. Check out a few of our favorites or view the entire denim selection in the gallery.

As the Olsen Twins junior brand, Olsenboye, launches today at J.C. Penney, the design duo continues the expansion of their fashion empire with yet another project, a denim-based secondary collection under the Elizabeth and James contemporary label. Named Textile Elizabeth and James, the Seventies inspired collection with design stemming from jeans the Olsens’ own in their wardrobe (with one pair dating back to their high school years), will feature three styles of jeans - the Hendrix (with a slight bell-bottom), the low-slung Stevie, and the cropped, highwaisted Joni.
In the fall, the Olsens plan to roll out a full lifestyle collection for Textile. ???We??™re talking about the favorite things you want to wear with your jeans, like the ultimate flannel shirt,??? said Siskin. The recently launched Elizabeth and James men??™s collection, meanwhile, will be repackaged under the Textile umbrella, with less suiting and more casual- and outerwear.
???Elizabeth and James is a name the customers really relate to,??? said Siskin. ???To give them this other piece of their wardrobe, with the same brand, is an easy connect.??? (WWD Click here to read today’s full article)
The collection, which wholesales from $106 – $111, will be launched exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Intermix in March.
