When you think hot fall accessory, you probably don’t immediately think “gotta get one of those fresh paper bags and put it on my head!” But that’s the concept Ziggy Denim had for their fall 2012 lookbook… and we’re very amused. Other “accessories” included body paint, firefighter hats, and blow-up guitars. Ziggy Denim takes pride in creating the comfiest jeans around, from cords to chinos, and they sell their styles for under $100.
With a luxe spin for fall, BlankNYC‘s upcoming denim collection focuses on the skinny jeans the brand is known for, in a variety of washes. Besides the requisite bleached blues and deeper indigos, look out for printed jeans inspired by Moroccan tiles, rich coated burgundy and teal jeans, and color-blocked pieces. We’re thinking of one word: decadent. But the price doesn’t have to be! Their newest line also boasts pairs made with X-Fit Lycra fabric, a type of 4-way stretch denim offered at an affordable, under-$100 price tag.
For those of you who have been following Canadian-based Fidelity Denim over the years, you know they’ve been called the butt bra of jeans and have a celebrity following. Fidelity, now distributed stateside, has a mens jeans collection as of 2009. As much as we’re coveting the Spring-Summer 2012 jeans collection (stay tuned for our denim review!), we can’t help but fall in love with the styling in their fall lookbook. You’ll see the requisite skinny jeans, along with a slick burgundy coated jean, flared jeans and even some velvety fine-wale corduroy jeans in skinny silhouettes. Rich, saturated hues along with faded fall shades are at your disposal. Check out the gallery to peruse all the Fall styles.
“Now when I walk down Fifth Avenue in the summertime I just want to throw up. It seems that the fatter and uglier people are, the fewer clothes they wear. The shorts and flip-flops and tight jeans on butts that go from here to Poughkeepsie.” She shudders. “I always say they should put people in jail for wearing clothes like that. Especially stretch jeans over size 10–they should be outlawed. Ten years ago people were starting to look like slobs in New York, now it’s an epidemic.” (Via Fashionista)
Be careful jeggings lovers! There’s no guarantee Iris won’t pay off the NYPD to do her bidding and throw all of you super-stretch faux-jeans wearers in the slammer.
Halloween is approaching, the leaves are changing, and let’s face it, it’s getting cold out! In case you didn’t know, jean jackets are the ultimate essential item for this season for both women and men. They are lightweight enough to not have you traveling in a sweat and are such an easy piece to layer with. Why we really love them though is because no matter what kind of look you personally like to go for, denim is the one thing that always remains stylish and functional! Check out some of our favorites below!

When the weather gets cold, clothes go high-contrast—that’s what we learned from stylish Sarah Caye. This Brooklyn-dwelling designer & DIY-extraordinaire rocked red stretch skinny jeans with a DIY-cut t-shirt and black boots over the weekend. We’re digging this red and black color combo, accented with the gold thread of the embroidered Chanel logo on the vintage t-shirt. “My Grandma gave this to me”, she explained. Details of her look are below.

1. Into the Navajo trend? These Isabel Marant Renell jeans are the perfect pick for you. They’re stretch denim for a great fit and feature an amazing graphic along the side seams.
As you guys know, we’ve been running around the Coterie and Capsule trade shows early this week, and we’ve seen a lot of innovative new takes on marketing jeans. One of our favorites is theHudson Jeans x isko collaboration (isko is a Turkish denim mill), which resulted in a denim knit material so easy to move in that they went as far as enlisting ballerinas to prance around in the jeans. Indeed, they dance uninhibited by the material, which is awesome to behold. But our favorite part was the actual marketing material, which comes in computer hardware plastic wrapping and includes a flipbook of a dancer performing in the jeans, a flash drive featuring a promotional video, and a swatch of the fabric. This is one piece of promo we’ll be keeping around the office.
It’s time for our first giveaway of autumn! We’ve hooked up with Marc Allison jeans (who we introduced you to this past summer with our Q&A) to give you a pair of chic baby blue’s for fall. Priding themselves on being “the next generation in premium denim”, Marc Allison features four-way-fit stretch jeans made with Supima cotton that make for a fit you’ll never forget. Movement and comfort are off the charts when you pull on a pair of MA’s, and you can wear them all week without getting that worn, stretched-out denim effect. It’s time to claim your own!
After taking a look at the Vince. fall 2011 lookbook, we can officially say we are ready to take on the colder weather. The soft knits and warm color palette make us long for the days when there is that brisk feeling in the air, because let’s face it, turtlenecks and the NYC summer heat just don’t mix. Vince is showing a great silhouette of baggy on top & slim on the bottom that will be easy for many to copy, but beware–that crop leg skinny jean can be a hard look to master, so for a more guaranteed flattering option, go for the skinny ankle jeans which will create a longer leg. We really love the way that Vince. transitions the colored denim trend into fall with earthy tones, that to be truthful, are easier to pair a top with than this season’s neons and pastels. With stretch denim ensuring a comfortable fit, these jeans definitely take a top spot on our wish list! (And we know it’s not denim, but that leather boat neck dress? Yes please!)
