Garance Doré is singing the aesthetic praise of MiH Jeans’ color block skinny jeans this week on her blog, and we couldn’t agree more. The chic-yet-playful take on average denim is basic, but interesting enough to take a regular sweater-and-jeans outfit to the next level. Patchwork jeans and two-toned jeans are a huge trend for spring, so prep your closet. Add some metallic jewelry and a pair of killer heels, and you’ve got yourself a perfect NYFW look. Which, by the way, is juuuust around the corner…

Grab a pair of MiH Jeans’ color block skinny jeans asap.

Need a vacation? Take a digital one with GUESS and their spring 2013 ad campaign. They’re bringing mint green jeans back on the scene with a pair of very fresh overdyed cut-off shorts. Shot in Bora Bora, the campaign features Gigi Hadid and Stephan Lambert in P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E. They sprinkled their brand with a bit of bohemian style this time around. We’re digging it.

If we learned one thing at the spring 2013 previews this season, it’s that colored denim is living on as a leading trend in denim. Gap went above and beyond by offering an entire rainbow spectrum of colors, from an adventures yellow to a more casual cyan blue. Also on the menu, broken-in khakis in pastel versions of their denim counterparts, printed blazers, and dark “lived-in wash” jeans. Basically, everything you need to add some prep to your spring look.

When we stopped by CLOSED to preview their spring 2013 line, one pair of jeans immediately stood out from the rest in the spectrum of Euro-chic rockstar-ready denim and knitwear. A pair of printed purple jeans with a beautiful motif that looks as if it was snatched right out of a Japanese anime (or a Yakuza tattoo parlor). The dynamic design was also available in a jacket. We’re pretty sure this is the beginning of a next-level trend in printed jeans that really transform the silhouette and infuse some imagination into the kind of prints we’ve already been seeing. You saw it here first!
Look out for the full CLOSED preview, coming soon.

An exciting new development in floral printed jeans, Earnest Sewn is collaborating with designer Peter Som to bring you a new spectrum of dreamy pastel jeans in a variety of floral motifs. The jeans, entitled Floral Fusion, walked the runway during NYFW spring 2013, which means two things: A) you’ll have to wait for next spring. B) you have something to look forward to all winter! The styles include cropped, wide leg, and skinny.
See them up-close below.
More on the line, via Denim Blog:
The line blossomed from Peter Som’s poppy runway prints and incorporated Earnest Sewn’s renowned denim techniques such as pigment coating and laser-dye processes. Earnest Sewn’s Creative Director, Ben Talley Smith said, “the collaboration has pushed our team to work with silhouettes outside of the traditional five pocket realm that we know and love, so that in itself has been exciting for us.”
Designer, Peter Som noted that he’s “thrilled to partner with The Earnest Sewn Co. The fusion of my runway prints with their expertise in denim has resulted in a very exciting collaboration. As someone who wears Earnest Sewn jeans regularly, the collaboration is a natural fit.”

Raleigh Denim‘s spring 2013 presentation showcased a light and breezy side to the ethical brand’s otherwise modern industrial aesthetic. Graphic elements included specially designed floral prints, grids and geometric shapes. There was a gorgeous white dip-dyed silk dress and smart button-ups for both sexes. Dark wash raw denim was cuffed up to reveal selvedge, and a pair of sexy short-shorts on a blonde female model brought immediate nostalgia for next summer.
Below, one half of the husband and wife design team, Sarah Lytvinenko, shares the story behind the collection (and their new New York store, which just opened at 211 Elizabeth St in SoHo).
