Denim Trend: 70s Jeans

Now that we’ve entered into a new year, there’s no time like the present to go back — way back — to the 70s. ¬†With 2010 ending in skinny bell jeans, thanks to brands like 7 For All Mankind and some innovative tailoring from Stone Blue Jeans‘ mini flare “Jessie” jeans, 2011 is poised for a 1970s revival in all things denim. ¬†Ironically, for men, we will likely continue to see the slim, narrow and boot cuts, but in vintage washes.

Since everyone still seems to be hooked on the slim/skinny jeans look, be on the look out for the evolution of skinny bell bottoms, vintage denim washes, chambray work shirts (great for early spring!), and possibly — dare we say — double denim looks. We think the bell bottom look will catch on easily with women, while lots of vintage finishes and bleached-out washes will be out in stores for men, in time for spring-summer 2011.
