Gwen Stefani likes to push the envelope when it comes to fashion, and she’s no different with denim. And, we think she did alright with this Norma Kamali denim on denim ensemble: a slim fitting denim jacket with a drop hem tail, and skinny jeans with an unusual diagonal zipper close. Stefani was snapped in Paris, while heading to a TV appearance. We think the secret to rocking any double denim look is a custom fit. We’d like to think Denim Therapy had something to do with how her denim jacket and skinny jeans fit on her like a glove (off the rack, the crotch hangs lower), but not this time. By the way, Ms. Stefani (or do you prefer Mrs. Rossdale?), if you’re reading this, have your people give us a call. We’ll hook you up with one of our expert services for your next public appearance. Just sayin’.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss kicks serious ass on a California beach in Juicy Couture‘s debut fashion film for Fall 2012. “All elements, including the music, setting, cast and props were carefully selected to help interpret the New California cool Juicy Girl.” The brand has adopted #GirlsKickAss to promote the film and celebrate the current and unprecedented moment for women and girls. For every tweet to @juicycouture with the #GirlsKickAss hashtag, Juicy Couture will donate $1 to Step Up Women’s Network.
As part of a multimedia effort, Juicy Couture wants to “create a playful, unapologetic fashion film set against the backdrop of iconic California,” said LeAnn Nealz, president and chief creative officer of Juicy Couture. For more information, go to Juicy Couture online.

Nudie Jeans and partner Kanon Vodka sponsored a semi hush-hush event held last Tuesday, featuring sister trio group Haim in concert—and Denim Therapy was invited. Held at swanky boutique hotel Palihouse in West Hollywood, the event catered to all the denim lovers, Hipsters and hotel crashers they could cram into the event space-cum lounge. The stylish bandmates made their debut at SXSW recently, and are making their rounds around SoCal. Check out the gallery for a recap of the festivities.

To those of you who have been privy to music group Oberhofer‘s sensational performance at the Nudie Jeans event at Brooklyn Denim Co. last summer, then you know they are the ones to watch. A few weeks back, Oberhofer made their network television debut on The Letterman Show, with frontman Brad wearing a pair of unisex Nudie Tight Long John in Black/Black. You can watch their performance (below) and see how Brad styled his Nudie look. Here at Denim Therapy, we dig fresh talent just as much as fresh denim.

If you don’t live in Manhattan, Los Angeles, Chicago or San Francisco, then you might be a tad disappointed when the H&M Dragon Tattoo Collection hits select stores in those cities on December 14. The “dark, urban collection” is inspired by Lisbeth Salander, the anti-heroine from the highly-anticipated film adaptation to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” H&M’s collaboration with costume designer Trish Summerville promises to feed accessible fashion addicts with edgy jackets, torn jeans, and hoodies colored in the deepest shades of black, white, grey and crimson. Lucky Manhattanites will get dibs on H&M’s pop-up store in the Meatpacking District (72 Gansevoort St) opening December 14th at noon.

Pictorials such as this one that features Model Liza Golden donning sexy denim duds while drinking a Pepsi, remind us of how much we actually loved the 90s while slightly causing a temporary dementia of how much we despised it (remember mullets?!). So when we came across this little gem it was definitely a nostalgic moment. It seems like we fell in love all over again with the bedazzled denim shorts and the high waisted shorts paired with the leopard print tank top. Let’s not forget the big hair and sultry makeup that scream Cindy Crawford in her heyday. The look perpetrates a style that we all tried to mimic (we idolized Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell) and whether or not we acheieved the look, we can all agree it was hot! Modernize this look for present day, by pairing high waisted shorts with wedges or motorcyle boots if you desire a rocker-chic look. Don’t forget the red lipstick and big hair for added oomph, just make sure you don’t get into a fight with your blowdryer the morning you decide to test this look out for a run.

Well it looks like Sugarhigh + Lovestoned is ditching its usual beach babe and ultra-hippie vibe this upcoming fall season. Instead they’ve taken to the big city with a seriously unapologetic rebellious rocker attitude and equally rockin’ wardrobe. Vintage-inspired rocker tees and low-rise jeans plus boho-inspired jewelry—Peace, love, and rocksteady indeed! And can we just point out that for being a fall collection this is so totally summer-worthy. We do like to stay ahead of the game…Perhaps we should get a head start?
