Recently, Denim Therapy asked Raven Denim Creative Director Yael Torbati about what she thought were some perfect denim fits this summer. ”We are super into mid-rise and high waisted jeans…they hold that belly in, show off your waistline, and seam to just be universally flattering! We’ve all seen the pairing of high waists with crop tops but for a look that’s extra sleek and sophisticated, I suggest wearing it with a one-piece swimsuit or a unitard. This creates a sleek line, with no messy “untucking”. Also, many high waisted styles have really cute detailing at the waistline (since it’s often a focal point) so wearing a one piece is the best way to show it off.
You can shop the Raven Denim Orly jeans (pictured above), and pair it with our suggestions below!
1. Topshop Dropped Armhole Cropped Top 2. Turquoise Bib Necklace 3. Duo Turquoise Cuff
4. Joie Elvia Lace Scoop Top 5. Hyun Tribal Bib 6. Tough Brass Circle Necklace

Summer is THE season for white denim, but there’s always ample amounts of anxiety about how to wear the clean (and must-be-kept-clean) hue. Our friends at Raven Denim have passed along two excellent styling tips that result in “a less predictable look” than your chic-but-expected blue denim or chambray pairings, and we’re eager to try them on for size. Which look suits you?
Soft & Feminine: For a vibe that’s ultra-sweet and classically girly, pair white denim pieces with soft pastels and neutrals.
Hard & Bold: On the flip side, wear crisp white denim with bold primary colors–they’ll definitely pop! (Even if you’re not poolside.)

Renee recently tried out a pair of Raven Caden Carrots in navy. To see some pictures and find out what she had to say (spolier: she loved them!) check out her post below.
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
They’re not quite denim, but a soft, medium-weight cotton in a classic navy. The name “Caden Carrot” was intimidating (carrot-shaped jeans are definitely not meant for my small-bottomed self), but I was pleasantly surprised by the fit.
Where/when would you wear these?
Rolled up, I’ll enjoy these relaxed-fit pants with sandals and some breezy crop tops and tees. A nice sheer button down would be a great way to take these to work.
How’s the fit?
They’re super comfortable, and can be worn low on the hips for a little bit of a drop-crotch look or pulled up for a more of a classic chino feel. Either way, they’re easy breezy.

Raven Denim continues to be a breath of fresh air to the denim market, with their super flattering mid-rise and comfy on-trend chinos. Designer Ya-el Torbati adds some flair to the pieces with painted elements and a fresh, earthy pastel color palette. The brand is doing some exciting things, like their collaboration with Stephen Burrows (the brand’s first designer collab) and their organic and recycled men’s jeans. Stand-out pieces include orange chinos and coated denim that give an updated take on the leather look.

Winter hasn’t done much to distract us from thinking about summer this year, so we might as well embrace it. We’re all over Raven Denim‘s spring 2012 women’s lookbook, featuring easy poolside style with a bit of a vintage twist. Raven has quite the variety of flare leg jeans (will they make believers out of those of us who still haven’t pulled on a pair for more than one fitting?), from moderate flare to more dramatic approaches. Their skinnies, khakis, and cropped styles come in a basic run of classic hues. These are fresh, fit jeans that will look awesome with clean summer basic knits. Check out the offerings below.

Have we ever seen Brian Austin Green without Megan Fox? Nope. Have we ever seen him in any other denim brand besides Raven Denim—particularly the Sid in Charcoal wash ($205)? Nope. Okay, maybe we have, but we think you get the idea. He’s a Raven denim-head. His wife, on other hand, chose a pair of Frankie B. Wide Leg jeans ($165). The denim-loving couple both styled their jeans with plaid button-down workshirts and kept it casual in this case.

We caught a glimpse of the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection from LA based Raven Denim. We’re seeing a lot of high-waisted styles, but what we’re really happy about is that you can get these in a skinny, flared, and cropped jean, so your options aren’t limited if you prefer a certain fit. The burnt orange flared jeans are a fun pair to have to get in on the colored denim trend next season, but still stand out from the crowd as this look becomes increasingly popular. This lookbook has a really fun ’70s vibe to it, and we love how these jeans are shown so that you can imagine them for daytime outfits as well as nights out. Keep an eye out for the release of this collection at the Raven Denim Online store.

Walking into the Raven Denim press preview was like walking into the perfect, cozy, weather-transitioning wardrobe. Refreshing paprikas, peaches, and nutmegs abounded in comfortable workwear trousers and high (but not too-high)-waisted skinnies. The cords, in perfect earth tones, had a beautiful sheen to them while the denim was studded with trouser-inspired details, like welt pockets and horn buttons. Coming from the label behind the coveted Mackenzie trouser, we weren’t surprised by all of the menswear details and attention to fit.
Creative director Ya-el Torbati (pictured below), who looked fab in her RD black skinny jeans and a cream colored printed blouse, chatted with us about what makes pants great (the flattering fit, of course) and how into wearing colors as neutrals she is right now (a girl after our own little Denim Therapy hearts). After seeing those peach colored chinos, we think we’re suddenly over black and blue.

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox had a family outing to the movies recently, making them prime targets for some denim street style celeb snapping. What did they watch? Puss in Boots! But the real main attraction were wifey’s boots and gorgeous jeans—as well as Brian’s all time favorite Raven Denim Sid Ash jeans (we totally dig the grey wash as a denim staple for a man’s wardrobe, in case you were wondering). These are one of the styles that he designed himself so it’s nice to see him representing!

Not only does Brian Austin Green love his Raven Denim Sid’s in Charcoal wash but as we mentioned he has joined on as a designer for a limited edition capsule collection. While enjoying meals with wife Megan Fox, at their family favorite Little Dom’s in Los Feliz, Brian rocked his Raven Denim Sid’s two days in a row. Seems like Brian has the perfect formula for happiness: a pair of Raven denim jeans and a lunch date with his sultry wife! We’re glad he has his priorities in check.
