The Joe’s Jeans spring 2012 lookbooks for men and women are out, and it looks like a clean, casual look is in order. The women’s line is a bit more rock’n'roll with some ripped open knees and dangerously short hemlines. Even well-behaved silhouettes like the high-waisted dark wash skinny and fire-red flare-leg are oozing sex appeal. The men’s line plays it more safe, with preppy colors, nautical stripes, and some great basics knits.

At the 7 For All Mankind spring 2012 preview, it was evident that pastels, plaids, and classic cuts are strong points for next season. We saw classic dark wash skinnies and straight leg jeans, vintage-inspired flare legs for the ladies, easy to wear sportswear, ombre dip-dye tops, and printed cut-off shorts in great color ways. We loved the boho edge of the women’s collection (a knit scoop neck top with knotted fringe caught out eye) and the preppy, casual feel of the men’s. But our favorite part of the preview was when we had the models to ourselves and encouraged them to go a little nuts—they didn’t hesitate! See the evidence (and the looks) below.

We’re pretty into preppy style: equestrian, heritage… you know, clean, functional clothes that make you look like you have a fat wallet and an Ivy League Alma Mater. Celebs love this look too, and Jodhpurs are one way to get that job done in a snap. LeAnn Rimes was spotted recently in an Elizabeth and James Paillette Trim Cotton Blouse, Rag & Bone/JEAN The Jodhpur Legging Jeans, and some fierce Lanvin Cutout Heel Pumps. “Ides of March” actress Evan Rachel Wood wore her J Brand‘s Jodhpur in Sharkskin in a mix of masculin-féminin with high top boots and a leather jacket. These ladies have the look down—but which interpretation is your fav?

A well dressed gal knows how to balance. A dramatic evening blazer with an a-line denim skirt may not sound incredibly fashion forward, but when that skirt has oversized white buttons running down the center and you add a chic pair of faux-animal skin shoes, that’s another story. Swedish model Frida Gustavsson proves over and over that she knows exactly how to play the notes of a mix-and-match outfit, and she’s perfected the aura of preppy-chic in these ensembles below.
The best part? We’ve broken them down so you can wear them too. You’re welcome!
