Tenue de Nîmes, denim’s equivalent to a candy shop, has released a limited edition stack of Big John “Ruri” wash natural indigo jeans. ”The ‘slim-tapered’ collaboration refers to the legendary Big John M1002 from 1967 made from a 14.5 oz fabric.” Other eye-candy deets: the jeans are made from Kaihara denim with a 25% reduced dyeing method which creates the traditional bright blue color referred to as ‘Ruri’ in Japanese. Also note the yellow selvage (a tribute to the traditional 1960s fabric made by Cone Mills) and original Delft’s Blauw (Dutch farmer’s cloth) lining. Only 24 pairs were made. The jeans go for €229.95.

1. We’ll take this moment to predict that kid’s premium denim is going to be a growing trend in the market, and as The Denim Guy noted, 7 For All Mankind is heading up the trend.
2. Raw denim lovers don’t mess around. The owner of this pair isn’t washing them, despite this massive mud stain on the back.
3. The Kardashians’ developing Sears line will soon feature home products, baby clothing, and a denim collection.
4. Demi Moore is the face of holiday denim this season with her Ann Taylor campaign appearing in Vogue, Elle, and other major mags, as well as metropolitan billboards.
5. We really love this photo of Steven Tyler posing like a loonie in a pair of jeans.

When we first laid our eyes on Stone Craft, we saw the immediate potential for “new favorite denim line”. Their hand-administered silk screen prints and gorgeous palette of colors (with classic washes and playful two-tone options) stood out as a new take on what we already love. Their premium denim line is inspired by the California lifestyle, which comes through in pastels and warm hues, bohemian prints, and unique treatments (like one pair of peach jeans that appear striped from a few feet away, but have DIY-esque drips of white down the legs upon closer observation). A theme of re-attached waistbands reemerges in different styles, with a destroyed fringe edge and contrast-colors. Their denim workshirts are just as unique, with patch pockets and collars in contrast fabrics with wild prints.
Stay tuned as we follow Stone Craft and bring you the latest on this gorgeous new brand!

Launching today: Ralph Lauren‘s empire just got even bigger with Ralph Lauren Black Label Denim, a premium denim range for men. “The collection features luxe, ultramodern denim for men in deep monochromatic hues bearing an industrial sensibility, with fashion-forward fits and signature accents. Iconic pieces such as peacoats, shirts and trenches are reinvented in the finest fabrics.” Expect to find skinny, classic straight legs, moto cross jeans, cargos, wide-leg pleated trousers jeans and even denim sport coats. Unlike Ralph Lauren’s previous, more conservative denim offerings, Ralph Lauren Black Label is trendier: waxy coatings, authentic whiskering and abrasions, oven bake processes, nicking and subtle pigment staining, over dyeing and pigment coatings.
As this is a full collection, men can also shop for complements in gauzy jersey knits, leather shirts, jackets in denim-blue, cashmere sweaters. The denim collection will retail between $225-$450 for jeans, with t-shirts and shirts from $80-$350 and outerwear from $395-$1,295. Ralph Lauren Black Label Denim is also available this week in select Ralph Lauren stores and department stores, as well as Ralph Lauren online.

2. Check out the latest denim styles from Obscene Jeans, including a white denim, acid wash, and dark-wash. Whether you want modern or classic style, they’ve got it covered.
3. Levi’s vintage clothing in miniature replica form. We can. not. stop. staring. at. this.
4. Apparently Barbie loves premium denim. Denim Hunt snapped these dolls at Target—a line called “Barbie Basics”, consisting of dolls dressed in premium denim, for about $20 each.
5. Looking for a pair of jeans to wear out at night this fall? The Leatherette by AG Jeans is a good bet. And they’re available for purchase now! Think ahead—these babies will be sold out before you know it.

David Kahn is a name well-known to denim lovers. The designer jeans company was originally launched in 1999 to cater to a market that was flooded with tops, yet shy of bottoms for women. It quickly grew a following but it wasn’t until it’s re-launch in the Spring 2011 under designer Bryan Boone that the collection embarked on it’s journey into the contemporary premium denim market. He then added rich textures and colors, luxurious premium fabrics, new silhouettes and fashion forward elements—the fantastic fit remains. Read on for an exclusive interview!
Denim Therapy: Lets start from the beginning. How did you know you wanted to be a designer?
David Kahn Jeans: Denim has been such a great tool for me to show my creativity. I’ve been drawing and painting since I was young but now I just do all my ideas straight on to the jeans. The David Kahn brand has such a cult following that wanted newness and excitement. That’s what I’m providing them with my collection.
DT: Do you have any pre-designing rituals?
DKJ: The inspiration for my collection has been brought on by great female bands and vocalists. So for the past seasons, it’s me getting into a new muse’s music.
DT: Describe the person who represents your ideal target customer—the customer you have in mind when you’re planning a collection.
DKJ: The David Kahn woman is always on point with trends and knows her body and what works and what doesn’t work for her.
DT: Can you give us hint about what’s next?
DKJ: It’s going to very earthy and happy!
DT: What are the most popular washes/fits in the line? What are your favorites, and how would you style them?
DKJ: My current favorite is our Brenda Skinny. Brenda is our new contemporary fit. My friend Jessica is super tall and typical “skinnies” only reach above her ankle. I wanted to do a true skinny. So we made it with a 34” inseam. Its super long! But its great for shorter girls too because they can wear a higher heel. Because it’s on Japanese power stretch fabrication it contours to the body perfectly and adds a cool bunchiness look in the bottom. Some girls might like it cleaner so they can always get it hemmed.
DT: Do you have any favorite/least favorite denim trends right now?
DKJ: Drop crotch denim silhouettes don’t really appeal to me.
DT: Street style and style blogs are huge in the industry right now as a source of inspiration, influencing the high end labels rather than vice versa. How much does street style influence your designing?
DKJ: Street style is definitely an important part of my inspiration. Seeing how individuals dress and outfit themselves sparks new ideas and it just grows from there.
DT: How many pairs of denim do YOU own?
DKJ: Less now. Probably 10-15.
DT: Favorite celeb wearing your brand?
DKJ: Definitely Fergie. She really knocked it out of the ball park with her Nikki Goldrush Wash, especially exciting since it was the brands first celeb spotting.
You can visit their website for a greater insight into the brand and “Like” them on Facebook as much as we do.
Thank-You!
