Eric Reviews Life After Denim’s Churchill Shirt In Bluebird

So, Life After Denim is a brand that, by all accounts, we should despise- purely for their name. But, they were nice enough to send me one of their Churchill shirts. Olive branch accepted.

With quality cotton and heather speckle cloth, it’s hard to hold their name against them for very long. It’s one of the most comfortable shirts I’ve ever worn and it’s great for all seasons, even though it’s in their Fall line. You can beat the heat and roll the sleeves, or keep them extended when the temp drops. Given the not-so-hellish summer temperatures and the surprisingly warm beginning to Fall, I’ve enjoyed both sleeve options, with gusto.

The Bluebird color is a great pairing with any skinny pair of black or white denim jeans. Heck, I wore the shirt to a beach wedding a few weeks ago, tucked into a white pair of slacks. Everybody was like “Yo, where did you get that shirt?!? It’s perfect!”

Simply put, this shirt is a delight. Grab one here.

With Love, From Sweden: Three Fresh Denim Street Style Looks

Some style bloggers hit the nail on the head about once a month by combining colors, textures, and style sensibility in a look that gets hype’d and turns heads. Some of them are consistently awesome. We love Swedish style blogger Frida‘s ensembles enough to merit her a Google Reader subscription and a glance in the morning when we don’t know what to wear. She rocks denim like a champ, and we wanted to share three of her recent looks that we love, with some pointers to help you achieve a similar level of chic.

First look, faux fur x lace x hooded carigan.

Mixing a more casual garment (hooded cardigan) with a decidedly more formal garment (faux-fur vest and lace top), you get a look that meets luxury and everyday style somewhere in the happy medium. A pair of perfectly fitting medium-wash blue jeans and leather accessories make the look versatile and accessible, while the lace and fur combo always add a bit of bohemian charm. Keep that in mind if you’re going for boho.

Second look, leather cropped jacket x cut-off shorts x costume jewels.

“Biker babe meets princess” is a look we love, and it’s easy to achieve. One part cut-off denim shorts (wear them with tights when the weather is chilly), one part light-colored cropped leather jacket (the more buttery, the better), a plain grey tee, and a blingin’ costume jewelry bib necklace combine for a knock-out ensemble. Her silver studded bag and metallic ankle boots are great punctuation for the otherwise light hued fabrics. Some fringe on those shorts are a must, and you can rock thick mascara and pretty pink lips to balance out the “princess” factor.

Third look, classic plaid top x platform shoes x ankle length skinny jeans.

Here’s a super classic look that combines Americana plaid with ’70s boho. Once again she wears medium-wash ankle-length jeans and her lace top, but she mixes those pieces with a boho fringe bag, a floppy hat, and big Jeffrey Campbell platform shoes. She layers a plaid top in red, white & blue and changes the course of the whole ensemble and ups the casual factor. Notice her color palette—and how much character the bag and hat add.

We hope you enjoy these three looks and have some fun trying them out. One of our favorite things about Frida is how often we see the same pieces popping up in her looks. She makes the most of a few key pieces and a great pair of jeans by switching out accessories and separates. You can do the same!

Three Casual-Cool Looks To Wear Right Now For Guys

We’re all about dressing down, but nowadays casual goes beyond just jeans and a t-shirt. The good things is that it doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it isn’t! And there’s a way to do it that’s as quick as throwing on you’re favorite pair of denim in the morning and calling it good. We’ve broken down three casual-cool looks that you can definitely wear now for some food for thought. The key is to trade in the basics and go for items with more personality. Opt for a cool chambray or plaid shirt instead of  your go-to tee and style it with a pair of simple jeans (don’t be afraid to try colors other than blue). Keeping your outerwear and knits unexpected with prints and cool appliques like patches will also keep things (key word) interesting.

Cameron Diaz Plays Bad Teacher For Maxim Magazine June 2011

Cameron Diaz struts her perfectly toned “gams” for the June cover of Maxim Magazine.  Photographed by Gavin Bond, the editorial features Diaz in some tantalizing and mischievous positions, as she recreates the clich? of a naughty professor for her upcoming movie Bad Teacher. Hosing down a classic Mustang in short shorts and a knotted midriff baring plaid shirt, Diaz makes mundane activities like washing the car, look like a piece of cake. We love the cuffed denim shorts paired the open toe heels and the seductive red lip, Diaz’s loose sexy tousled waves finish off the look and once again, Diaz is the envy of all high school girls and the drool factor for all the boys.
