Taylor Swift was recently snapped looking cute as a button in a pair of Current/Elliott Stiletto Jeans in Rosewood. She was attending a business meeting in Santa Monica (hint: colored jeans = OK for a meeting, but we’d dress it up a bit more with a tailored blazer).

You already know we’re psyched about floral shorts this spring, but aside from classic wallpaper-esque prints that everyone wore last season (and will no doubt buy again in the spring), SOLD Design Lab showed us another genre of floral that has us dreaming of poolside parties and copious amounts of sorbet. Their airbrushed colored denim shorts feature gorgeous tropical and beachy floral prints that turn these bottoms into bonafide wearable vacations you can store in your closet! Children of the ’80s and ’90s will have flashbacks of Barbie dream house color schemes, while everyone who catches a glimpse will appreciate them as a fresh new take on the floral trend.
We’ve gotta hand it to the LA-based brand for keeping it Cali, and at the same time, giving us New Yorkers something to dream about now that we’re facing fall head-on. Also in the lineup, Union Jack-emblazoned shorts and tie-dye cut-offs that will go with everything.
You can shop SOLD Design Lab now at these retail locations & online stores.

A quick look at BIGSTAR‘s latest reveals a few on-trend, tempting items for spring 2012. Aside from their classic indigo raw selvedge jeans (branded with the slogan “Break ‘em in yourself”), they have a cute range of colored neon denim shorts for women. Colors like minty-lime, royal blue, and peach hung alongside classic denim jackets and vests. Also on the menu, destroyed jeans with fabric patch-backing and light wash flare legs with a bit of vintage charm. Aside from great denim, they made our list of the most innovative denim booths at Coterie this morning for their big walls’o'denim.

We’ve been known to break a few rules in our time. One of them was “No white after labor day”. White jeans? We’re still wearing them. Another is an unspoken rule that sweet, pastel hues are off limits once fall’s chill sets in (and as of this morning in NYC, the chill has more than set). But Alexa Chung and Madewell have teamed up to give you one big reason why it’s going to be more than just “ok” to wear pastels clear into October. The latest collaboration, with a lookbook styled by Alexa herself, is hitting the stores September 22nd—and guess what it has! Pastel pink jeans! Of course, there’s traditional medium-wash blue jeans in the collection as well, so you don’t need to be a huge risk taker to wear this line.

We dropped by Milk Studios for the IFB conference last week and chatted with some bloggers, snapped some photos, and scored some free nail polish… but due to technical difficulties we had to cut out early. The conference is always a fun and informative experience, and we make it a point to go every year, but this year we were pleasantly surprised—the crowd was full of super stylish denim-based outfits! While our camera was malfunctioning, Shanna from Denim Hunt managed to snap a bunch of the outfits we loved. Check out our favorites below.

Color us obsessed over these pink-hued blue jean cut-offs! This festival street style outfit shows how a bohemian look can be infused with some unexpected electro with hot pink threads running through the shredded and distressed denim in the bottom half of this ensemble. Whether or not this was a DIY endeavor, it’s definitely worth trying out. White fibers inside your denim can be dyed far easier than the blue-saturated part of your shorts, and the outcome is super exciting. The long cardigan and cropped top pictured here are a win-win as well.

The stylishly notorious Rumi of Fashion Toast rocks a trend we’re ready to dive right into-–pink denim cut-off shorts and silver accessories. The pink and silver combo is a dose of straight up pretty that works on anyone. Rumi’s shorts are Isabel Marant. If you’re worried that the icing-pink is a bit too frou-frou, throw on a loose, filmy semi-sheer top and leave your hair to fly free like a bohemian queen.
