As much as we love totally epic, stone-faced models wearing jeans in campaigns, we really love how Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren always seems to capture a more young, fun, social vibe. Such is the case with their newest:
“Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren has released its official fall-winter 2015 campaign images starring R&B singer Tinashe, Cody Simpson as well as models Hailey Baldwin and Bella Hadid. The images channel a free-spirited, bohemian style with the photographs captured on location at the Electric Lady Studios in New York City.”

Our favorite shoot from the latest CR Fashion Book is this one, featuring Sibui Nazarenko photographed by Billy Kidd. Can you guess why? The denim layering is dead-on for fall 2014, utilizing classic denim jackets (the kind everyone has in their closet) alongside cozy knits and cold-weather favorites. We might be summer-dreaming right now, but we’re already soaking up inspiration for fall.

We tried on some shades at the MYKITA store opening in SoHo last night, celebrating the newest leg of the brand’s increasingly large global reach. MYKITA’s German eyewear is lightweight, comfortable, and stylish as hell… a combination you can’t ignore. As if their frames weren’t cool enough, the concept behind the location at 109 Crosby street is every bit as thought out.
From MC’s review at Hey Mishka:
“No detail of this interior has been overlooked. Everything from the neon tubes that illuminate the building’s original metal pipes along the ceiling to the structure of the shelves and the storage units (old air stewardess trolleys) have been honed to reflect the brand’s unique image.
There was a real emphasis on preserving the building’s original heritage as an Art Deco landmark while creating a vibrant show space for the product. You know those places that are just fun to shop in, even without champagne?”
See more photos here, as well as a video of rockjazz pianist ELEW performing live. Be sure to check out MYKITA at 109 Crosby Street!

When it comes to New York nightlife, it’s more or less a free-for-all. You may spend your night drinking with runway models and foreign royalty, crashing loft parties, or enduring experimental poetry readings in communes. Anything seems to go—even pole dancing in denim! We snapped a few shots of one of our favorite exhibitionists in action below ground level this weekend and we thought you might appreciate them. If only more gals would lose the spandex and stick to jeans!

In our second installment of the Buffalo David Bitton jeans excursion, we follow Renee as she frolics about the candy-striped exterior of the now closed Fred Flare Greenpoint location! Her light-wash semi-destroyed cut-off jean shorts with a faded pin stripe were styled sweetly with floral-frame glasses and a vintage tie-front blouse in off-white. The neutral palette is perfect for summer!
Here’s what she had to say about the experience:
“I’m loving pastel jean shorts for summer right now! It’s a little bit difficult to tell from the pictures, but there is a striped railroad pattern going on in these shorts, which gives them a little rock and roll feel. I’m so glad to go beyond the basic denim cut-offs this season! They’re fairly short with a medium to low-rise, but what’s the use of living in NYC if you can’t show off your amazing gams acquired from living in a 4th floor walk-up?”
Check out Renee rocking her shorts below, and stay tuned… the DT bloggers have more summer denim excursions to share…
