The stories being told are a direct reflection of the current state of the fashion industry and how the landscape is evolving. Heidi Klum took to the streets of New York City with her eldest child wearing Work Custom Panther Shorts. Looks like the mother-daughter duo were dressed perfectly for the official first day of summer! We love these super, super-skinny straps on her top (New Yorkers know as little weigh-down as possible on a muggy day like that is absolutely necessary). Heidi, who is set to appear nude in a new ad campaign for Project Runway, is only looking more stellar with age.

When it comes to New York nightlife, it’s more or less a free-for-all. You may spend your night drinking with runway models and foreign royalty, crashing loft parties, or enduring experimental poetry readings in communes. Anything seems to go—even pole dancing in denim! We snapped a few shots of one of our favorite exhibitionists in action below ground level this weekend and we thought you might appreciate them. If only more gals would lose the spandex and stick to jeans!

In our second installment of the Buffalo David Bitton jeans excursion, we follow Renee as she frolics about the candy-striped exterior of the now closed Fred Flare Greenpoint location! Her light-wash semi-destroyed cut-off jean shorts with a faded pin stripe were styled sweetly with floral-frame glasses and a vintage tie-front blouse in off-white. The neutral palette is perfect for summer!
Here’s what she had to say about the experience:
“I’m loving pastel jean shorts for summer right now! It’s a little bit difficult to tell from the pictures, but there is a striped railroad pattern going on in these shorts, which gives them a little rock and roll feel. I’m so glad to go beyond the basic denim cut-offs this season! They’re fairly short with a medium to low-rise, but what’s the use of living in NYC if you can’t show off your amazing gams acquired from living in a 4th floor walk-up?”
Check out Renee rocking her shorts below, and stay tuned… the DT bloggers have more summer denim excursions to share…

At the end of the night in a crazy-craaazy club in Manhattan’s Lower East Side called Mehanata, we peered over the bar to notice that one of the bartenders was wearing a pair of loose-fit Zara jeans with a grey waistband, front-button detail, and a cute cuffed hem. She’s gotta move like the wind pouring drinks for impatient nutjobs all night, and we imagine that’s not hard to do when you’re wearing comfy denim like this, paired with some kicks! Check out her style in these snapshots below.

Wandering around the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn on any warm spring day, you’re bound to come across a ton of flea-market esque sidewalks full of vintage, second-hand, and (in this case) random items to be browsed. We happened to discover this pair of high-top denim sneakers sporting quilted top, denim fringe trim, and dragon embroidery. We’re all about questionable flashbacks from the ’80s and ’90s, but even we had to stop and blink at this one. So, our challenge is… how could you style these to make them… well, stylish?! Sound off on facebook.
