1. Denim Heats Up On The Beach: Forum S/S 2011—As the holidays fly by us, it’s about this time when we start day dreaming of the warmer weather that Spring and Summer brings. And though in fashion time we’re already technically heading into pre-Fall, we’re pretty sure you’re ready to throw on your denim shorts… Keep Reading! ?

2. Denim & Metallics for New Year’s Eve Outfits that Shine—As Balmain reminded us repeatedly over the past year, metallics and denim are a match made in heaven. Whether it’s sparkles, studs, or a sleek panel of metallic mesh, this accent can turn a basic denim garment into something extremely festive (or totally badass). This New Year’s Eve, it’s time to toss the frou-frou cocktail dress and let the room know you’re there to party!… Keep Reading! ?

3. Siri Toller?d Gets All Dirty in Head to Toe Denim—We’re really amused by this playful series shot by Andreas Sjodin of Norwegian model Siri Toller?d, face contorted into quizzical stares, bike tire and wrench at hand. With knees cut and dirt smudged all over her worse-for-wear denim outfits, she’s a refreshing departure from ultra-glam denim editorials (though you know we love those too!)… Keep Reading! ?

4. Working The Work Shirt—Without a doubt the denim look has been at the forefront of the fashion world for the last couple of seasons, and, from the looks of it all, it isn’t going to stop any time soon. Jeans have definitely made their mark, and have proven to be a fashion staple, and we love it, but now it’s time to switch it up a bit and move the focus upward. Get ready for the invasion of the denim and chambray shirtKeep Reading! ?

5. Anything But Bassike—As we love to say, there are times when more is definitely more but for the most part we like to keep plain and simple, which is probably why we love Bassike (pronounced basic) so much.  Always presenting us with the perfect wardrobe staples from asymmetrical-bias cut tees to beautifully aged denim, one thing we definitely never are when it comes to the Sydney-based brand is underwhelmed… Keep Reading! ?

6. Black Orchid Denim: An Exclusive InterviewJulien Jarmoune has taken his life-long passion and talent to new heights.  After extensive research of the saturated denim industry, he realized there was something missing in the market: a basic well-designed jean.  Through combining his knowledge and sheer determination, Black Orchid was born as a classic line appealing to women of all agesKeep Reading! ?

Denim & Metallics for New Year’s Eve Outfits that Shine

As Balmain reminded us repeatedly over the past year, metallics and denim are a match made in heaven. Whether it’s sparkles, studs, or a sleek panel of metallic mesh, this accent can turn a basic denim garment into something extremely festive (or totally badass). This New Year’s Eve, it’s time to toss the frou-frou cocktail dress and let the room know you’re there to party! Check out some of our favorite ways to wear metallic accessories and accents with your denim.

1. French fashion blogger extraordinaire Betty of Le Blog de Betty kicks around in some metal-toe boots by OFFICE (?95) – buy them at OFFICE.

2. It makes a lot of sense to turn to the makers of denim classics themselves to turn out compatible accessories to help illuminate your look. A metallic belt is functional, eye-catching, and sure to serve you well into the new year. We love this 1-SNAP-A belt by Diesel ($130) – buy it here.

3. Steal the show in this velvet vest with metallic thread embroidery and mirror detail! The ornate piece goes perfect with a pair of ripped cut-off jean shorts. Nasty Gal had this Marrakesh version for sale and it’s since been sold, but you can DIY, scour vintage shops, or try this gold-embellished nude bolero at $108.

4. New York-based glamour-expert and blogger-gone-style-icon The Glamourai layers with a metallic sequin cardigan over a pair of Hudson jeans. Metallic sequin blouse by Elizabeth and James ($185.50) – buy it at Beso.

5. The luxe golden accent jewelry and accessories at Chanel work perfectly when applied to denim. Pile on the bangles, jewels, and rings while keeping your denim attire simple to make a bold statement. Seen here via the Cherry Blossom Girl. Try these Giles & Brother golden bracelets ($168) from Net-A-Porter, or a Kenneth Jay Lane Double Cross Cuff ($231) from Shop Bop. For party goers on a budget, this beautiful Pelle Filigree Cuff ($20) from Alloy.

6. Taking #3 a bit further, Dries Van Noten SS/11 shows us that layering textured metallics on top and pairing with a pair of jeans creates a look that encompasses the spirit of partying in luxury and the careless vibe of downtown new york city. Image from JAK & JIL BLOG. Try this Diane Von Furstenberg ($545) from Cusp, paired with this VINCE sequin tea in antique gold ($295) from Revolve Clothing. Or try this eye-popping (and exceedingly affordable) Wet Seal variation in red.

With these styling tips and a whole universe full of after-Christmas sales, you’ll be able to rock party-tailored denim on the big night out and turn heads all year long.

Divine Rights of Denim for Forever 21 was sent to us from heaven to earth. The LA-based women’s contemporary line has joined forces (exclusively) with Forever 21 to provide its customers with premium product at affordable prices just in time for the holiday shopping season. Divine Rights of Denim’s entrance into Forever 21 marks the first time a branded line will be sold at the retailer.

Divine Rights of Denim’s initial collection features trend-driven styles in an array of colors and washes available in three fits – skinny, straight and the increasingly popular ‘jegging’. However, within the next few months they will be adding denim dresses, vests, and floral prints- you just have to hurry up and get it. If you’re lucky enough you will score yourself an affordable and amazing denim outfit for New Years Eve.  Items that previously ranged in retail for $70-$100, will now all be under $30- Thank God!
