Klaxon Howl‘s Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign really captures the essence of where denim started—with the working class. The black & white photos make us not only nostalgic for the classic, clean look of men’s denim, but for the men in general! The line has a very nautical feel to it, which is really on trend this season. Don’t you just love when the fashion of the past comes back into our lives? Us too! One thing Klaxon Howl knows is that no matter what era it is, nobody can dislike a bunch of sexy sailors in great jeans. Period.

When it comes to staying cool in the summer, sometimes it’s best to keep things clean and simple. Whether you opt for a simple denim shorts and white t-shirt combo or go a little more preppy with a straw hat and some blue velvet shoes (woah!), the key to keeping your look fresh is a tamed color scheme reminiscent of nautical-scapes and beach house attire. We’ve rounded up five of our favorite such outfits from The Sartorialist (who launched his newly designed website and is hiring interns, by the way), for you to garner summer style inspiration from.
