Buffalo David Bitton delivers a mix of key trends and undisputed classics for both sexes in their latest fall/winter denim delivery. Women can choose between traditional styles like medium-wash skinny and mid-rise flare—or they can go for more festive fare, like metallic snakeskin ankle-zip jeans or autumnal yellow colored denim. Men are likewise treated to traditional selections in classic washes… but the more fashion-forward gents can score a pair of saturated teal skinnies. We’re favoring the latter. Other coveted styles include abstract and animal prints and carefully cultivated washes. It’s not easy to choose, but here’s one thing we’re sure of: Buffalo David Bitton is stepping up their denim game. Are you in?

MC tried on a pair of mid-rise Marilyn Skinny Jeans from NEUW Denim recently and hasn’t stopped talking about them since. You can see the jeans in action here (look at the photo on the left—it moves!), and check out what she has to say below.
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
My first thought was how I love high-waisted and mid-rise jeans! The wash is gorgeous and the details (like the side pocket stitch and the small metal hoop on the belt loop) set these apart.
Where/when would you wear these?
I’d wear these with crop tops and shirts that give the opportunity to show off the higher waist (tucket in, etc). On this particular day I was freezing so I put my vintage Levi’s jacket over the ensemble, but originally it was my summer-beckoning neon yellow crop top and my open-toe 80%20 shoes.
I’d obviously also wear them while taking care of business, screaming on my phone with sunglasses on! See photo for details.
How’s the fit?
Supreme. This denim is thick and supportive (you know what I mean, badonk-adonk!), and there is virtually no stretching out throughout the day. I feel awesome in them. My next mission will be to find high-rise jeans in this perfect fit… but in light wash.

DT’s founder Francine recently got herself into a pair of Black Orchid Jewel Mid Rise Jeggings—similar to the mint green version Kim Kardashian favors in her endless denim collection—and she let us know what she thinks about ‘em! Scroll to find out if they meet her standards for style, fit, and versatility.
Check the jeans out below:
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
I love the color and love the fit. I’ve definitely become a mid-rise type of girl and these jeans are perfect in that regard.
Where/when would you wear these?
They’re versatile—they’re fun because of the bright color but they can be styled to look a little more serious. The color might even be intimidating if these jeans walked into a meeting… But definitely day or night, and all four season!
How’s the fit?
LOVE the fit. They are both comfortable and flattering, and most importantly, they don’t lose their shape after a few hours of wearing them.

What is the golden rule for denim shopping? Avoid muffin tops by buying jeans with at least an 8″ rise! The rise is the length from the bottom of the crotch to the top of the waist band. Buying jeans without trying them on is hard enough, but this is one regulation to stick by if you want the best chance of flattering your figure. Sarah reminds us of this all-important rule in this week’s video below.

What jeans should you wear to holiday dinner (AKA, the grand tradition of over-eating)? Raven Denim suggests you aim for higher-than-usual-waisted jeans, if you don’t want to resemble a stuffed bird. Aim for mid-rise to be comfortable and still contain your food baby.
“Don’t be afraid of a higher rise. After you have dinner, everyone gets a little tummy. Wear a a mid-rise, which will hold you in, while giving you versatility to tuck-in or wear loose.” (Ya’el Torbati, Raven Denim)
