As the air gets crisp and we all start trading our summer tees for fall sweaters, the search for transitional staples is officially on. Luckily, we’ve found some great in-between-season jeans for the guys to wear (you know, since it’s too soon to break out the heavy duty ultra-dark-wash raw denim). Check out some of our favorite men’s jeans below.
The guys of Denim Therapy (and whoever shops with them) know that it’s really hard (if not impossible) to find a pair of slim fit jeans that are comfortable, attractive, and priced reasonably. Slimbs, a fresh new denim brand that we’re super excited about, is prepared to change that. The founders of Slimbs spent over two years conferencing with some of the denim industry’s experts to narrow down the formula for their American slim fit jean, which is currently being developed in three styles: Selvage, Studio Blue, and Downtown Dark.
“Guys should feel comfortable, mentally and physically, when transitioning to a trendier style,” explains their Kickstarter campaign page, “We are here to put to rest the social stigma that surrounds slim fit jeans by introducing a new idea of slim – the American slim fit.”
Slimbs is prepared to deliver on the things that matter most, made from top quality Japanese denim at an amazing price that mass market jeans can’t compete with. Our favorite part? They’re also offering free repairs on every pair of jeans… because holes in the crotch aren’t in style, in any country. We’re proud to say we’ll be handling the repairs for Slimbs, right here at Denim Therapy.
Check out their Kickstarter campaign page and donate to score one of the first pairs of jeans, and help get this awesome new brand off the ground!

Gap‘s Lived-In global marketing campaign features emerging and talented young artists including musicians, singers, actors and photographers wearing their authentic, worn-in Gap staples: youthful interpretations of classic, casual styles.
The “Lived-In” attitude is brought to life by a cast of emerging and talented young artists including musicians, singers, actors and photographers. The campaign includes Trinidadian-born American recording artist Theophilus London; English singer-songwriters Birdy and Anna Calvi; American actors RJ Mitte and Julia Garner; Swedish photographer Lina Scheynius; and American singer-songwriter and record producer Ernest Green (performing under the stage name Washed Out).
A second interesting component to the campaign includes an ad in Vogue magazine’s March issue: a first-ever tactile fabric print ad, which includes a fabric logo made from the cotton of a worn-in tee, driving home the idea of clothes you can live in.

Who doesn’t love The Outsiders? Too young to remember watching and/or reading this in school? Allow us to refresh your memory:
The Outsiders is a 1983 American drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by S. E. Hinton. Jo Ellen Misakian, a librarian at Lone Star Elementary School in Fresno, California, and her students were responsible for inspiring Coppola to make the film. (Source)
In this gem of a flick you’ll meet Ponyboy Curtis, Sodapop, Darrel (played by Patrick Swayze) and a hoard of denim-wearing greasers who are literally too cool for school. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll put on your favorite jeans and cut the sleeves off an old t-shirt.

Just when you think you’ve seen everything in terms of wash, treatment, distressing, and style, a denim designer comes out with something new and exciting to keep consumer wheels turning. Chip Foster has a few new styles we’re excited about, ranging from comfortable and stylish to clever and quirky.
The first style is a flannel-blend slim straight fit men’s jean. Though slim, the fit is more relaxed, and the 12 oz indigo fabric feels just as comfy as the flannel sheets you put on your bed in the winter.
The second pair is a rainbow nap 12 oz relaxed fit jean. The outside looks like your run-of-the-mill pair of jeans, but the inside features a rainbow spectrum of the threads woven into the nap. That means as your jeans begin to wear and crease, you’ll have hints of color showing subtly. How cool is that?
Both pairs of jeans will be available in late August at Nordstrom, Henry Lehr in the Hamptons, Loren in Brooklyn, and Independent in Arkansas. Check back for an expanded list of retailers on the Chip Foster waiting list, or contact email@example.com for details.

Denim lovers in Brooklyn know of a little gem on Nassau avenue right at the fringe of Greenpoint and beginning of Williamsburg, where the brunch and dinner crowds form for Five Leaves and Nights & Weekends. Loren is a small white brick denim haven filled to its brim with made-in-Brooklyn jeans, vintage denim finds and related treasures like men’s accessories and a selection of women’s denim staples. Denim Therapy was invited in for a bottle of vodka (wrapped in a snug denim case, designed by Loren Cronk in a special collaboration with ABSOLUT) and some jeans-to-go. We finished the evening off with denim-themed cocktails at Nights & Weekends.

Andrew Marc has worked hard to establish a reputation as an iconic American brand since its inception in 1982. In spring 2013 the company launched Denim & Leather: a brand defined by an absolute love of Americana and the rebellious culture of the 40′s 50′s and 60′s. This brand captures the authentic spirit of these times with a contemporary and functional approach. It is a premium denim label that designs products for a young market: one that exudes rock and adventure.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of Crinkle Night Wash straight leg jeans, so after hanging out with them for the past 3 weeks I’ll tell you what I think of them…
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
“Wow. Badass.” It doesn’t get much more rock’n'roll than black coated denim.
Where/when would you wear these?
I’m totally wearing these bad boys for my DJ gigs regularly. Good jeans are one way to own the night.
How’s the fit?
Perfect straight leg fit with room to move—and jump, as you can see below. I admire the strong craftsmanship. They’re sturdy, but they’re also comfortably. And most importantly, sexy.

Denim of Virtue is a premium denim brand manufactured in LA. “We didn’t want to just throw ourselves back into the ‘premium denim’ market without delivering a product that was truly luxe and worthy of the name. That was part of our Virtue… giving our customer denim that feels so good on they won’t want to take it off, and really introducing looks that stand out in the marketplace,” says the brand’s designer, Elizabeth Bae. And make no mistake, she they’re living up to their manifesto.
Sourcing the very best denim fabrics from around the globe, DoV developed new techology, “X-Fit”—a four-way stretch material that provides an unparalleled slimming effect. They looked to Italy’s Candiani denim mill for durability and France’s soft Tencel-based “Cool 12″ material for their relaxed fits (so comfortable it’s pretty much impossible to take off). Finally, for their coated denim styles, they imported specialty fabric from Spain that was treated with an uber-soft wash.
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
Comfort factor. I’m used to wearing raw denim. These are more like wearing a soft moccasin after years of wearing strong tough shoes.
Where/when would you wear these?
I’ve been wearing them to brunch, for walks along the waterfront in Williamsburg… they have the perfect look and feel amazing. I’ve dubbed them my “resort jeans”.
How’s the fit?
I really like the medium rise with a tapered slim fit. They have the perfect amount of stretch and are really comfortable. The contrast cuffs are another visual bonus.
Wash 751 DI (Contrast)
75% cotton 23% Polyester 2% spandex
Tapered slim fit
From rise 10″

Denim veteran Tobias Levine teamed up with the founders of Public School—Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne—to put together a line of men’s denim jeans that are every bit as badass as New York City itself, where all the garments are made. The team works closely with the finest production facilities in the garment district to offer this rare component to their line.
The collection offers washes developed and produced exclusively by Wonderland concepts (a wash house in Kentucky owned by Dick Gaines). They also offer entirely un-washed, raw denim variations that allow the consumer to experience the fabric and customize their own pair through repeated wear. Fits include Skinny, Slim and Straight: PS 13, PS 14, and PS 16 respectively. The numbers represent the ankle opening, creating a clear distinction for the wearer as to which fit is best suited to their body. See our favorite four picks below.
Below, the PS 14 Slim fit in Gray Scale wash. A gray-black vintage wash with hand-sand, hand-staining and minor fabric hand-administered vintage treatment on the knee and hem. 14″ leg opening with a 10″ rise. Fabrication is 11.25 oz cotton-poly-spandex selvedge cone white oak denim.
Below, the PS 13 Skinny fit in Noir wash. A black crinoline waxed jean with body heat activated fit and wear acceleration. 13″ leg opening with a 9.5″ rise. Fabrication is 11.25 oz cotton-poly-spandex selvedge cone white oak denim.
Below, the PS 13 Skinny fit in Black Pig wash. A black pigment spray-over white base jean by hand-application. 13″ leg opening with a 9.5″ rise. Fabrication is 10.50 oz cotton spandex cone denim.
Below, the PS 14 Slim fit in Blue Blood. A midnight navy garment-dyed jean with hand 3D natural wear in front pocket entry and behind wearers knee. 14″ leg opening with a 10″ rise. Fabrication is 11.25 oz cotton-poly-spandex selvedge cone white oak denim.
The line is now available at Odin and select Bloomingdale’s locations. Visit Public School online for more.
