February certainly is all about denim for quite a few fashion magazine covers and editorials. Of course, Denim Therapy is thrilled that denim is hotter than ever and why shouldn’t it be? To many of us, it is the quintessential hallmark of comfort and style, but most of all, it is the fabric that unites us all globally in a very prolific way. Like music, every denim moves to a different beat, but when you get to the core of it all, we’re all singing the blues.
For Spring 2010, denim is celebrated in an old fashion way. A return of true denim heritage of tough work wear aesthetics, rugged washes, androgynous, liberating silhouettes, patchwork, and attention to the most minute details. Pleated trousers, faded button downs, worn in overalls, emphasis on high-end selvage denim, think James Dean’s Rebel Without a Cause feat John Travolta’s Saturday Night Fever…disco meets rag time.
Let’s see how long the return trend of head to toe denim will last. My guess is that it will fade faster than a cheap pair of jeans!
