Spring’s on the way (yes we’re buried in snow right now… allow us to draydream), and it’s time to start pulling together your no-fail looks for the upcoming season. This spring fashion’s brightest aren’t taking themselves too seriously, enjoying a bit of distressed denim and a quirky pair of printed jeans. There’s nothing better than busting out a pair of worn, torn yet comfy boyfriend jeans. They are the most dependable jean in our closet and can carry us through any day. Fashion blogger Sandra, from The Hereabouts, loves her tomboy trimmed pants. She’s added the perfect dash of femininity with a pop of polka dot and complimented the rugged and relaxed style with bold accessories. It’s important to be comfy and casual, but keep that feminine spark alive with your look. How do you accessorize your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans?

The motto behind the Marc by Marc Jacobs Standard Supply Collection is “fundamentals of fall”, and that they are. This season the brand has put out the denim you need to rock a sleek and stylish look, no matter what the occasion is. The lookbook showcases mostly dark wash denim jeans, which always makes contrasting colors on top pop. There is also the flared leg style, which is shown in a lighter wash that showcases their impeccable stitching—never something we’re going to complain about! By pairing the skinny jeans with wedge boots (btw, love them!), a long leg is a guarantee no matter what your body shape is. Marc Jacobs, you have done it again.

We can hardly contain our excitement (and our spending) for all the new denim that is coming out next season. When we saw the fall denim line from Marc by Marc Jacobs, the variety of of washes and styles–we’re talking skinny jeans to slim fit to high-waisted flares— had us head over heels. Good thing the prices aren’t too crazy, as all the jeans are in the range of $168 to $228 (after all, what else are we working for if not new denim?) and we only have to wait till next month for it to hit stores. P.S. when did we start wishing we were Elle Fanning?

Places to shop denim keeps popping up, and sometimes, in unexpected places. Not that Saks Fifth Avenue is such a surprising place, but it is certainly a great place to pick out some unexpectedly fine jeans by unexpected or even forgotten designers, sale now in progress. Yes, you’ll find the usuals: 7 for All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Current/Elliott, Earnest Sewn, Rock & Republic, True Religion, et al. But what about Burberry Brit, Helmut Lang, Marc by Marc Jacobs, or even Red Valentino? I say, if you’re going to own a piece of high fashion, then let your first be a comfy piece of denim jeans that you can wear to death (and show off)!

In true Jacobs fashion, this nonchalant collection is filled with a delicious mixture of patterns, textures and proportions all in an array of rainbow colors that makes me want to skip to my Lou! How befitting as the inspiration for Jacobs’ line was drawn from the musical Footloose.
His signature color combinations of red, white and blues; purple and pinks; turquoise and yellows with the added touch of gold is a continuing nod to the 80s with denim, floral, animal and plaid patterns presented in flirty and fun combinations. Just re-Marc-able!
