Ashley Tisdale was recently spotted with an iced coffee in hand, making her way to pick up a dress at Barneys in LA recently. She wore a pair of light wash denim shorts, a knit top, and matching beanie. While the east coast may envy her iced coffee habit at the moment, we can totally rock this outfit by adding a pair of tights to the mix. Bada-bing.

Ashley Greene was recently spotted wearing a cute summer ensemble: a floppy brimmed hat, a zipper-pocket knit top, and a pair of J Brand Aquarius denim cut-off shorts, which are semi-destroyed to add a little rough-around-the-edges style to the outfit.

While resort season is generally known for clothing conducive to poolside lounging and exotic vacations, when denim is involved it tends to be in the form of super wear-able styles and a dominance of light wash. We also saw some trends pop up, like wide legs and printed boyfriend jeans. Below, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite blue jean cameos in the resort 2013 collections.

We don’t know about you guys, but when we have a laundry day, we usually find ourselves wearing one-piece bathing suits and sweatpants. Not Miley Cyrus! The Olsen twin-looking pop icon took a break from her otherwise super low-key recent life to visit a laundromat with some friends, where they washed their clothes and took photos for Twitter. Normally, this wouldn’t be news to us at Denim Therapy, but Miley’s old-school, light wash mom jeans looked so cool paired with her Beatles tee and abundance of awesome jewelry, we had to share. We like the new Miley and hope to see more of her (and her jeans).

The Fall 2011 Mens Collection from the Italian brand JFour has all the clothes you need for an edgy, but put together look. The denim is not limited to just their jeans, but a rich dark-wash chambray workshirt, and a great denim blazer that can casually dress up any outfit. Their long-sleeve knits portray Native American imagery, which is a definitely change from the usual print interpretation we see of this trend, but the graphics can be a bit loud. The jeans range from light to dark washes, so it is super easy to pair them with one of the work shirts or the blazer and rock the denim on denim look without matching too much. Next time we’re overseas, we know right where we’re headed.

We are happy to report that after looking at the Denimocracy Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook, you will all be pleased! Brands don’t always cater to more than one type of customer, but by offering both jeggings and real denim in this line, what is not to love? While of course we’re big fans of the actual denim pieces (especially those light-wash flares!), we think the jeggings are the standout items for this collection. The paint-splattered design as well as the white jeggings with a colorful flower print really let you have fun while looking your best, and that is definitely always a nice thing to be able to do. Keep an eye out for it at Denimocracy.

Cords are a great option to pair with this light-wash denim workshirt, especially if you’re worried about not getting the denim-on-denim look right. To top it all off with the navy newsboy cap gives this outfit the extra touch to make it into a really casual pulled-together look. We love finding new and exciting ways of styling denim, especially when it comes together so effortlessly with something that’s totally new and unexpected. Take this amazing spring 2012 lookbook by Eighteenth, for example. The juxtaposition of ethereak, soft white sportswear with light wash denim in unique cuts and styles is perfection and so different that we can’t help but stare at how cool it looks. We love the exaggerated look of the denim jacket with cuffed sleeves over the oversized-sleeve crop top. And we’re totally crushing over the urban and fresh sensibility of the drop crotch oversized stove pipe jeans that have the aura of a full length denim skirt perfectly styled with a billowy sheer top.
