We know it’s IMPOSSIBLE to imagine right now, as the humidity weighs down on us, but bi-polar New York weather does not entirely remove the possibility of another chilly day before the steady summer weather sets in. We learned that lesson the hard way a couple weeks ago when the temp dropped without warning, and we were running around in our little cut-off shorts! That same week, our blog editor Michelle Christina whipped up a little chilly-weather street style in her favorite pair of Kasil jeans.
Here’s what MC has to say about her jeans…
“These Kasil skinny jeans are the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned. The denim stretches to your movement, but is thick enough for a chilly day. I always cuff them when I wear them with wedges—I love the deep blue underside of the fabric and the super-rich wash. You do have to be careful with this kind of saturated blue denim though… I dyed a white leather purse blue without knowing it.
This time I paired the jeans with a sheer layered navy top and an H&M blood-orange tank. That particular day, the trench over top (althrough it was thin), was totally necessary.”

Already out from Kasil Workshop is the Fall-Winter 2011 denim lookbook, which features dark washed jeans in whiskered and straight leg fits that both men and women can appreciate. Kasil has evolved since the days when it was known as the It Jean with colorful back pocket embroidery: their use of a wool and denim blend in the collection lends a softness and warmth, almost like a cashmere sweater for the winter months. If you’re digging the sound of that, then feast your eyes on a few previews set to hit stores before the last summer barbecue!
