Summer is THE season for white denim, but there’s always ample amounts of anxiety about how to wear the clean (and must-be-kept-clean) hue. Our friends at Raven Denim have passed along two excellent styling tips that result in “a less predictable look” than your chic-but-expected blue denim or chambray pairings, and we’re eager to try them on for size. Which look suits you?
Soft & Feminine: For a vibe that’s ultra-sweet and classically girly, pair white denim pieces with soft pastels and neutrals.
Hard & Bold: On the flip side, wear crisp white denim with bold primary colors–they’ll definitely pop! (Even if you’re not poolside.)

First, pose like this… Just kidding!
You’re running out of time to wear white denim if you believe in the “no white after labor day” rule (we don’t, actually). But whether or not your white jeans have an expiration date this season, it’s worth knowing how to rock them properly. White can be one of the most intense statements you can make in an outfit, giving an air of resort-wear and a bit of expensive taste. Tonya from Shopbop’s blog tells us how she pairs her white denim for a knock-out outfit:
For an easy take on bright separates, I’ll pair white skinny jeans with a punchy tank in turquoise, coral, or orange and balance the look with understated flat sandals in nude. Or I’ll take my cue from the Alexander Wang spring runway and play with white-on-white–a basic T by Alexander Wang tank and white Siwy shortswill feel unexpected while beating the summer heat. Though casual at first glance, white jeans can be dressed up. Pair flared white J Brand jeans with a tucked-in nude tank, a blush blazer, and wood-bottom shoes for a mixed-neutrals look that wouldn’t feel out of place on a lunch date.
