While chatting with Japanese brand KURO Denim, a brand that specializes in exceptionally worn and ragged jeans (read: incredibly comfortable with built-in history), they discussed their customer’s most successful styling technique. When you buy a pair of jeans that’s nearly $500 and look like they’ve been through the war, a hoodie and sneakers don’t do them justice. The brand’s representatives suggest wearing their well-worn jeans with a crisp, button-down shirt and a beautifully tailored wool jacket (KURO has begun to introduce these options in the sportswear component of their line to drive the point home). Opposites attract, and a pair of jeans like these need to be balanced with clean, sharp coordinates.
