Even though monochromatic looks are fun, don’t shy away from pairing colored jeans with other strong colors! Take a hint from Bloomingdale’s and do this: “Boldly layer rich swaths of color to reach saturation point in standout style.” Bet you hadn’t thought about color-blocking with your denim, huh? Here’s one way you can do it–this combination of royal blue jeans and punchy orange top is striking, for sure.

Wondering how to wear the pastel denim trend without looking like a pastry? Try mixing up the look with a faded old band t-shirt or a vintage rocker t-shirt. We love the way this blogger meshed a pair of minty green skinny jeans with this rockin’ top. Try this for a different take on pastel hues this fall.

“Colored denim is such a fun trend happening right now, and there are options for everyone, whether you’re a risk taker or just testing the water! If you’re not sure which color works best, or you’re nervous about rocking a bright red pair of denim, keep it subtle and choose something you can wear every day without feeling self conscious.
I love Rag & Bone’s Dusty Blue Skinny – it’s an easy way to wear colored denim and it will easily blend with most items currently in your closet. For those who are a little more daring, the Skinny in Kelly Green, Bell in Cobalt or Capri in Crimson add the perfect pop of color to any outfit! Just remember to keep your top & accessories subtle since the focus should be on the jeans—and you don’t want your outfit to look like a spin art project gone wrong!”

We know what you must be thinking…how can you possibly give denim on denim a twist? Well, trust us it’s totally doable and it involves one of the biggest of-the-moment trends: color! Pairing a medium wash denim work shirt with a pair of bright colored jeans like fashion blogger Aimee Song has done here is the perfect way to give your denim wardrobe a breathe of fresh air. We love this saturated shade of pink, but if you wanted to tone this down you could totally do it by opting for a softer more muted tone and styling it with lighter denim shirt. Either way you’ll be on-trend and summer-ready!

Since the trend is making a comeback (at least in our minds—can we get a hell yeah for gradient denim!?), we couldn’t help but revisit these rad white jeans with easter-egg-esque dye jobs. From the ladie’s line over at Akademiks, these gorgeous, vibrant bottoms have us thinking summer vacation thoughts. Style this look with complimenting colors (but not matching, lest you look like Easter candy yourself) like a pale peach tank for the blue gradient jeans or a cool grey top with the pink gradient. A killer combo? Try an electric yellow top with the purple-dyed jeans.
