Sean of Rawr Denim did some retrospective ruminating over things he wishes he’d known when raw denim was still a new interest. He found out via trial and error, and taking advice from various websites/denim-heads, what really works best when caring for your jeans. For example—a no fail recipe for “sick fades”? Doesn’t exist. And should a single drop of water touch your raw jeans for six months after purchase? Maybe the “no water” rule isn’t exactly what you thought. The Best Way To Wash Raw Denim

Need to wash your raw denim? Yes, eventually, you should! We’re all about wearing them for 6-12 months without washing, but eventually the dirt and sweat and grime that accumulate to help bring you those lovely fades and creases will begin to break down your denim, which leads to holes. Use a small amount of Woolite dark and soak them in the tub for a half an hour. Lay flat to dry.
