So you just got yourself a new pair of jeans—maybe you ordered them online, or were having a particularly “skinny” day when you tried them on in the fitting room. For whatever reason, that waistband is suddenly too tight, and you’re getting upset because a premature breakup with this great new denim is on the horizon. The jeans don’t fit! But wait! There’s a fix, and it doesn’t involve sewing or anything with sharp edges! Read on to find out how to make your too-small jeans fit.

You read about freezing your raw denim to clean it this morning, but here’s another tip that votes against throwing jeans in the washer and dryer. After you buy a new pair of jeans, wear them a few times without washing them to help them attain the shape of your body and achieve a better fit.
