Fashion brand Lindex has launched a new denim collection made from sustainable fibers made with low impact energy processes using Jeanologia technology. The collection of jeans is modeled by Martha Hunt in a recently launched campaign. From skirts to slim-fit to flared jeans, Lindex proves that fashion can be eco-conscious as well.
“We are very happy about the results, and this is only the beginning. We seek constant improvement in how our fashion is produced and we are working hard to reduce our environmental impact. In this sustainable denim collection we have selected some of our most popular denim styles for women and kids and worked through the washing processes,” says Lars Doemer, Global Sustainability Manager for Production.
When it comes to denim trends from eras past, the ’70s had it all. From gorgeous faded washes to embroidery and romantic silhouettes, there are countless ideas to draw from. Self Service Magazine published an inspiring and sexy editorial for spring 2015, featuring model Malgosia Bela in high waisted, flare-leg jeans and worn-in tees, with a dash of luxe crochet and summer separates. Photographer Angelo Pennetta captured this perfectly nostalgic image of carefree glamour, making us crave summer (and maybe a viewing of Boogie nights) more than ever.

The Frame Denim Fall/Winter 2015 collection was launched with the same concept the brand was born from: chic wardrobe essentials, inspired by the heritage of denim manufacturing in Los Angeles. The fully fleshed-out ready-to-wear collection consisted of effortless pieces like stovepipe cropped jeans, high-waisted flare leg jeans (love flare legs? They’re on the rise again!), a totally wearable jumpsuit, and a perfect denim skirt that mimics the silhouette of a denim jacket tied around the waist. See the whole collection here.

When it comes to rise, we like ours high. High-rise jeans have been a constant on our denim shopping wishlist since before we can remember (including our mother’s Gasoline jeans from the 70s, which we wore to middle school with pride). It’s nice to see celebs like Jessica Alba wearing this incredible chic style so effortlessly (grab a similar pair of jeans here). She’s seen here in a casual look, having paired the jeans with a long knit cardigan sweater and brimmed hat. The brown leather belt is the finishing touch that makes this look a put together ensemble.

We admit it: we still love the idea of starting fall with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and an oversize sweater… but it’s nice to mix things up, and we know some of you are just plain sick of wearing skinny jeans. If that sounds like you, Nasty Gal has some nice alternatives to mix things up as the weather cools down. A flare leg, a boyfriend jean, and a super cute pair of denim trousers (reminiscent of stovepipe jeans from the 70s). Shop all three below.

We love a good throw-back, especially when it provides us with amazing style inspiration. eat, sleep denim totally gets it, and they recently hailed Blondie’s Debbie Harry as a vintage denim style icon. One look at these high waisted pink jeans and classic denim jacket, and you’ll surely agree. There are a host of good pics to gawk at, in case you need a reminder that denim will always be the coolest textile ever. P.S., can we have these pink frames too?

More specifically, the line features black and white nights, high waisted jeans, and denim workshirts. See the full lookbook here.

MC recently reviewed a pair of zip ankle mid-rise jeans by D-ID, or Denim Identity. The jeans are medium wash premium denim with a medium rise and double button detail. Denim afficionado Jimmy Taverniti says the collection is inspired by “the timeless freedom of the American West and the iconic poetry of the cinema.” So how do they stack up? Read on to find out.
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
I loved the zip ankle! I want my jeans to be really fitted at the ankle so I can wear them inside boots, but also because it creates a more flattering silhouette for me.
Where/when would you wear these?
I’ve been wearing them non-stop. These are solid every day jeans that are easy to style with a tank and blazer or one of my many oversize sweaters.
How’s the fit?
See above! Add to the awesome zip detail, a high rise waist, and I’ve got a brand new go-to pair of jeans. They have the right amount of stretch, without stretching out as you wear them during the day.
You can grab a similar pair here. In the market for some new denim? See MC’s review of mint green jeans here, too.
