Who says that denim can’t be the starting point for rad art? Attitude had the great idea of distributing ten classic denim jackets to ten different artists–from graffiti artist Mr. Shiz to multimedia artist Danny Sangra–and then photographing the results. The aptly-named “Ten Jackets by Ten Artists” editorial in the magazine’s January 2012 issue shows us jackets that are so not the norm; they’ve been spray-painted, dyed, studded, and reworked in nearly every manner possible. Check out all of the funky fresh looks below!

We LOVE denim and we LOVE art, so when we heard about the collaboration of Levi’s and MOCA, we were instantly smitten. This Saturday, Levi’s classic denim trucker jacket is getting released with a twist—patriotic artwork done personally by famed graffiti artist Shepard Fairey. When asked his thoughts on why the collab focuses on the trucker jacket, Fairey points out how it “is a significant piece in that it’s one of the few fashion icons that has managed to mean something important to almost every demographic and ideology of youth culture movement since it was first introduced.”
Be sure to not miss out on this perfect opportunity to show the world your love for both the great ol’ USA and the world of street art. Be part of the lucky few and grab one of the50 limited edition jackets that will be available via mocastore.org on July 2.
