So don’t get us wrong… we’re fascinated by Lana Del Rey. Sultry voice, unique personal style… and she wears denim when she isn’t decked out in floor length evening gowns, crooning away. But lately she’s had a few outfit offenses we can’t ignore. While a recent performance saw a very cool pair of Urban Renewal studded denim shorts, she paired them with an extra-long badly proportioned fringe tee we wouldn’t even have worn in the ’90s. Then she hit the street wearing a chic pair of G-Star Midge Bell Ankle Jeans, but the trapeze top she wore was all wrong for the silhouette. And yes, both looks were sent off the deep end by her ever-growing bouffant hair and intense eyeliner.
How to fix these looks? We’d hack that trapeze number into a crop top and switch out her shoes for some fresh metallic flats, and the fringe top would be much cuter if it were a vest over a bandeau (or else, hack that fringe to thigh length).
None the less, Lana sets some great denim examples when it comes to brands and cuts. Grab a pair of Urban Renewal studded denim shorts or some G-Star Midge Bell Ankle Jeans if you like (at least that much of) what you see.
