Tokyo has been recognized internationally as the capital of off-kilter fashion for many years now, from the first FRUiTs book to the (sometimes awkward) glorification of Harajuku by Gwen Stefani and an explosion of subcultures centered around different genres of dress. While many styles that Tokyo-dwellers adore didn’t originate in Japan, no one seems to take trends and outfit calculation quite as far as they do. And for that, we love ‘em.
