French fashion label April77 is doing the oh-so-French thing: they’ve produced a series of videos to infuse a sense of artsy charm in their Spring-Summer 2012 lookbook, entitled “In Bloom”; as illustrated by a group of philosophical actor/model/Hipsters. Shot in a cinéma vérité style, it’s what you might perceive as one part actor’s workshop, one part group therapy in its quasi-documentary way. As the actors speak, the camera provides close-ups of the clothes’ most interesting visual textures, such as the marble-patterned shirt, a corduroy pant, and a pair of rough, skinny jeans. Get a load of the equally quirky lookbook images in our gallery before you have a look at the videos.

Would it be much of a stretch if we said that French fashion label Kulte‘s new “Belle” campaign is a tip of the hat to the “Belle Epoque,” a period from the late 19th century to the period leading up to World War I? The men’s campaign model, showcasing several denim pieces from the Autumn-Winter 2011 collection, channels Charlie Chaplin (who was wildly popular at the time) in some instances. Although each ensemble is decidedly modern, you get the definite feel that vintage inspirations had a major influence in this photoshoot (not unlike Kulte’s last ’60s-inspired campaign). This new season of offerings: denim outerwear, rugged slim jeans and a slim corduroy blazer and accessories prepares a would-be traveler or Outdoorsman for a frosty winter trek ahead.
