We’ve been light wash obsessed all summer long, but now that the weather is cooling off, we’re ready to break out the darker hues—especially when it comes to jeans. Fall is the perfect time to pair black jeans with an oversize sweater or a chic denim button-down. Here are 6 diverse options for wearing one of our favorite styles.
Supermodel Karlie Kloss laced up a pair of roller skates to star in the Frame Denim Spring 2014 ad campaign, complete with 70s inspired bell bottoms and romantic wavy hair. This ad comes as a follow up to her collaboration with the brand in 2013. Says Fashion Gone Rogue, “The American model is the epitome of seventies chic in a pair of flared denim pants with a white asymmetrically cut bodysuit. Karlie trades in her signature short crop for a longer ‘do in the black and white image.” Yep, we’re in love.

From the time denim hit the market as functional, industrial uniforms to the moment skinny jeans became a staple in every woman’s closet, denim has always been a must-have. No closet is complete without a pair of worn-in, comfy boyfriend jeans — nor a pair of fierce dark wash jeans for days when you want to turn heads and take numbers. But it’s the celebrity denim culture that also fuels our love of amazing jeans. Seeing women like Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Kate Upton rocking our favorite brands in new and exciting (and sometimes totally off-duty) ways keeps us craving denim in our wardrobes. Harpers Bazaar takes a look at some of the ultimate jean queens of our current culture.

Cue the romantic music and sunset ocean breeze! While we’re all for acid wash and medium-blue, a pair of beautiful pale, pastel skinny jeans might be the perfect touch to your summer evening ensemble this year. Pair any of these with a loose knit tank and bandeau or a chunky loose-knit sweater and wind-swept hair. Top it all off with white sandals and a beach bag.

Too tall for your jeans and tired of trying to find a pair that look and feel amazing? Karlie Kloss feels your pain, and she’s begun a collaboration with FRAME Denim to solve the problem by creating a line of jeans for tall women. Read on to find out more.
“For every longstanding Kate Moss for Topshop partnership (where dresses have sold out within two hours online), or Elle Macpherson Intimates label (which has garnered a clutch of entrepreneurial awards), there’s been a blink-and-you-miss-it Abbey Lee Kershawcapsule for ManiaMania or Jessica Stam collection for Rag & Bone.
Models successfully moonlighting as designers may not be anything new, but Karlie Kloss insists she wasn’t jumping on any bandwagon with her FRAME Denim Forever Karlie jeans collaboration with friends Jens Grede and Erik Torstensson.
Rather her first move into design, for which she’s co-created two excessively long jeans styles—flared and skinny in light and dark washes, each with 40-inch inseams—was born out of necessity, not ambition. “I’m freakishly tall, so finding pants that fit is something I’ve struggled with my whole life,” bemoans the gazelle-like six-foot-one beauty. “My secret to pulling off too-short jeans has always been to pair them with boots . . . and I really rocked the flood-pant trend for as long as I could!” Keep Reading…
