Though the hottest days of summer are in the past here in NYC, it’s still humid enough to don white jeans, cropped skinny styles, destroyed denim shorts and simple white cotton tanks. We couldn’t be anymore in love with Genetic Denim’s summer lookbook, which we admittedly wish we’d seen a lot sooner. They nailed cool vintage denim style to a tee, with an effortless vibe that defines the lazy days of summer. See our favorite images from the shoot below, see the full lookbook here, and shop the collection here.
An accessory can really send your look from plain to perfect in a second. One of our favorite is a gorgeous brimmed hat, whether it’s a fedora, a boater, or even a classic cowboy hat. A hat can add an instant layer of confidence and interest to an otherwise simple ensemble. Whether you’re rocking flare legs, cut-offs, skinnies or otherwise, there’s a hat for that! Check out these five street style beauties to see how they worked their hats and denim into one awesome outfit.

Denim tip of the day: pair pastel skinny jeans with a de-saturated, darker hued accessory for a sophisticated spring look. Here Aimee S. rocks a pair of J brand skinny jeans with a thin leather belt, crocheted white top, and maroon fedora. We love the contrast between the sweet, light hue of the denim and the dark, classy shade of the hat. For an extra splash of rad, metallic accessories to play up the bohemian vibe (which occurs much more readily with the afformentioned crocheted top).
