Ashley Olsen & Nicole Richie were both spotted in similar winter outfits in Paris and New York respectively, featuring enormous faux-fur black jackets and variations on the classic black skinny jean. Ashley wore a pair of Textile Elizabeth and James Johnny Jeans in Onyx (score a similar pair at the link) while Nicole wore a pair of J Brand Leather Leggings. We assume they didn’t coordinate across the time zones, but both looked super-chic (and super warm).

Guess & Guess by Marciano had their fall/winter 2012 press preview for accessories, men’s and women’s clothing on April 6th at the gorgeous Skylight West in NYC. The room was full of natural light and adorned with next season’s must-have’s, including specs, bags, belts, faux-fur stoles, watches, and of course, super chic attire. We fell for an ensemble involving a cropped floral skinny jean with a denim jacket, worn under an oversized pink faux-fur jacket. See more below!

When planning a singular hue palette for your look, take into consideration different textures, shapes, levels of lightness and saturation. While everything here is purple, every piece is holding its own weight. And as not to confuse, when adding the accent color (here it’s silver), everything matches, from shoes to necklace to phone.
