If you are a reader of this blog, then there’s a very good chance you are already a fashionista in your own right, but you want to really pursue — on a professional level — your knack for making your denim-enhanced ensemble look fresh off the runway. You know how to pair your Rag & Bone legging jeans with the perfect Mike & Chris trench-inspired coat. You never met a selvedge jean you didn’t like, but you hate it when designers do a rush job on the latest fashion trends, just to get noticed. And, if you’re a young, aspiring fashion diva, then you have a great opportunity to learn what it takes to make some noise at Fashion Week. See information below on how to get schooled…
Fashionista University is an amazing new program for teens and gals in their early twenties. Students will even participate on field trips to the city??™s hottest spots including a trip to the fashionista holy land New York Fashion Week. The biggest comment we??™ve received thus far has been, “Where was a program like this when I was younger!” (Don??™t worry; next year, adult classes will be added due to popular demand!)
Program begins January 23rd, 2010.
Seven-week, Saturdays only hands on courses to learn the ins and outs of the fashion business including:
- styling/costume design
- event planning
- jewelry/accessory design and more.
Run by fashion designers Kathlin Argiro and Courtney Zellmer and publicityguru Gwen Wunderlich-Smith, Fashionista University gives students a Project Runway meets Gossip Girl real world approach, with celebrity, editor and guest designer appearances, as well as access to fashion shows, showroom events, publishing houses, TV stations and more! Fashionista University provides tools teens need to turn their dreams into a reality and break in to the world of fashion with opportunities and experiences beyond anything they ever imagined.
