French fashion label April77 is doing the oh-so-French thing: they’ve produced a series of videos to infuse a sense of artsy charm in their Spring-Summer 2012 lookbook, entitled “In Bloom”; as illustrated by a group of philosophical actor/model/Hipsters. Shot in a cinéma vérité style, it’s what you might perceive as one part actor’s workshop, one part group therapy in its quasi-documentary way. As the actors speak, the camera provides close-ups of the clothes’ most interesting visual textures, such as the marble-patterned shirt, a corduroy pant, and a pair of rough, skinny jeans. Get a load of the equally quirky lookbook images in our gallery before you have a look at the videos.

Who needs to wait until March 20 when we can enjoy spring vicariously through a series of video fashion campaign produced by some of our favorite denim brands! Kicking off the series, for your viewing pleasure, is the first installment by 7 For All Mankind, entitled, “Lily Donaldson”. This video is somewhat a classic fashion campaign video featuring a pretty lady, except this lady happens to be a sought-after supermodel and face of countless brands including Burberry and Gucci.
If you recall, Denim Therapy posted about 7FAM’s new video series directed by James Franco. The video series was kicked off by a behind-the-scenes video of James directing and shooting in Santa Monica Beach.
Stay tuned for more fashion campaign videos!

Odyn Vovk reveals his 2012 Spring/Summer Collection in a short fashion film. The denim vest, jean jacket, and jeans function as staple pieces for the man featured in the film, yet still manage to be unique due to distinctive collars, buttons, and light washes. The man in the film is going somewhere, and though he may not know where, he’s got the durable clothing to stick with him for the long run. You may not be going soul searching anytime soon, but these denim favorites are great pieces to have no matter where you’re headed.

Utilizing an alternative medium to debut his new BLK DNM collection, famed Swedish fashion designer Johan Lindeberg (of J. Lindeberg) has produced a short film to captivate his fashion audience. You may recall Lindeberg also made headlines several years back with his ad campaigns featuring the likes of Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode and actress Juliette Lewis. Directed by Danish filmmaker Martin De Thurah, “Short Film 1″ presents the BLK DNM collection in a mesmerizing and surreal cinematic package, complete with a soundtrack and enough emotion to bring a sort of Street Style realism (not cinema verit?) which is in conflict with fantasy-ridden runway shows walked by models in restrained emotion. Showcased are BLK DNM’s edgy, downtown cool that sparks a bit of elegant rebellion: zippered leather jackets, square-shouldered blazers and high-rise stretch jeans for women. Lots of leather jacket options, trousers and a straight leg and slim fit jean for men. Also look for denim shirts.
