When you think hot fall accessory, you probably don’t immediately think “gotta get one of those fresh paper bags and put it on my head!” But that’s the concept Ziggy Denim had for their fall 2012 lookbook… and we’re very amused. Other “accessories” included body paint, firefighter hats, and blow-up guitars. Ziggy Denim takes pride in creating the comfiest jeans around, from cords to chinos, and they sell their styles for under $100.

The Doctrine Jeans showroom preview blew us away with new styles in both women’s and men’s denim for fall 2012. Our favorite styles for women included a spectrum of coated ombre skinny jeans (think colors like berry, bronze, and coal). Two other stand-out pieces for the ladies were the jumper and dark wash overall. We got another up-close glimpse of the men’s Teflon coated maroon jeans that we first saw at PROJECT (which are now being produced in two additional colors). Check out the line below!

“It’s a tough choice to make between the 3, but when it comes down to it, I love the classic look of the Kaylie Sexy Slim Bootcut in Rosalie Ann wash. With short legs like mine, I need a pair of jeans that can help “lengthen” them! You can also dress these jeans up or down and would easily match with any piece in my wardrobe.”

When it comes to wow-factor, Bleulab Reversible Denim is on the top of everyone’s list, from the ladies in our office to celebs and downtown socialites whose style we adore. They come out with intense combos, like acid wash lace print on one side, and coated pink waxy finish on the other (think splash of Pepto-Bismol on a lacy dress, except you’re wearing it, and it’s gorgeous). When we caught a glimpse of what they’ve got in store for next season, we had cartoon-hearts in our eyes. After covering basic trends like animal prints and faux-skins in the fall line, they went all-out superstar with metallic silver, cracker leather, and electric red. But it’s not all novelty: they’re offering a perfect dark-wash flare leg jean.
For spring, the palette goes saturated and light with electric candy colors like violet and lime. Shorts are printed in florals and oversized houndstooth. Snakeskin reappears in a lighter, cropped style. Light wash jeans and acid wash are rampant (and look amazing). And don’t forget—every jean has a totally different interior for flipping inside-out and wearing all over again. Two amazing pairs of jeans for the price of one. Our absolute favorite? This shimmering line of metallic teal and violet snakeskin shorts. We are literally clawing at our laptop screens.

While browsing the aisles of Coterie and taking in overwhelming amounts of exciting new denim products for spring 2012, we came across plenty of stylish wanderers—either buyers, brands, or bloggers—looking super chic. Fall denim has come into full swing in NYC, and aside from knowing people travel from near and far for ENK, we could tell there was a bit of East and West coast fashion in the mix. We loved the colored denim, long dresses paired with jackets, and other cute trends we spotted (especially the high waisted denim skirt below). Have a look!

According to the Rachel Zoe report, contrasting colors are the hot trend in accessories and clothing this fall. From jewel tones at opposite ends of the spectrum to black contour trim on bright orange bags, you can’t go wrong when opposites attract. So how does this trend apply to shopping for jeans? Here are three ways to make it work.

1. Shop your closet. What’s in there already? If you have a ton of dark tops and cardigans, you can spring for a few gorgeous hues in denim (we love these Agatha Ruiz de la Prada mint green jeans) to mix and match with your darks this season. Half of the equation is already done!
2. Check the color wheel. What’s your favorite color? What’s the closest compliment? If you love royal blue, go for a rich burnt orange. If you love butter yellow, try a muted purple blazer. Be bold!
3. Dip-dye denim has all the contrast you need, right in one look! If you’re not into color this season, you can go for a dip-bleached denim piece instead. Or if you’re feeling crafty, you can DIY your own.

J Brand CEO, Jeff Rudes has a thing or two to say about what every gal needs in her denim inventory this fall.
“Which jeans should every woman have in her closet? She should have 3 skinnies, 1 flare, a few colors, always a corduroy and 1-2 fashion styles – who’s counting!”

This style tidbit is brought to you by the Intermix Blog.
